What are the qualifications for working as nanny?

I will love to work as a nanny, but most the jobs are full time. I can take full time job right now, but I just don’t know if they will be willing to change my schedule when I start school. Please let me know what I need to know and where I can look for that kind of job. I live in Virginia.

What does a nanny typically cost per month?

We live in NY/NJ area and are looking for a nanny that can drive to our place in the morning around 8AM and leave in the evening around 6:30PM. Can anyone tell me what this typically costs? I am more interested in nannies from craig’s list etc and not from the nanny agencies as I understand the ones from agencies cost a lot more.
