First of all I am 19 years old I do need a job and I am enrolled at a local community college where I take online courses and evening courses. There is a possibility that I am preg so that needs to be factored in also.
Option 1~ working in a daycare that is about 10 minutes from my house. It is a 40 hour work week at $7.25/hour of course taxes are taken out. The positives of this are that I am basically guarunteed a job until I no longer want one. because there will pretty much always be a need for daycares. The negative would be that I would have to then enroll my child in daycare (which I really DO NOT want to do) and it could not go to the daycare i would work at because they do not take infants.
Option 2~ Nanny about 20 mins from my house. I would only work 20 hrs a week at $10/hour but they are claiming it on their taxes so that does cut down on my income. The positives would be that I would only work 2 days a week and that I could take my child with me.
The negative would be that I would not be making a whole lot of money. They could always enroll their kids in daycare and I would be out of a job. Also the oldest girl is a little spoiled brat.
Option 3~ A nanny about 30 mins from my house for 1 child a minimum of 25 hours a week. Most likely more. I would not start full time until Sept. I would make $8.50-$9/hour to start and they said it will go up and they are not claiming it on their taxes.
Positives~ the hours can be real flexible, i could take my child with me and the pay isnt bad
Negatives~ the mom will still be in the house she works from home, they could always put their daughter in daycare, and the distance from my house. Thank you all!

I would take the job in the day care center. Although there is less pay per hour, you do get an opportunity to work more hours and you are only ten minutes away from home. That can really come in handy when you’re pregnant. Also on the plus side, if you’re about to have a kid, you can get use to environment of children. Once your child is born and you have to move your child to a different day care, maybe you can change job positions to where your child will be located.

You say three options, but I only see 2. Of the 2, I’d take the nanny .. you’ll save the difference in day care for your child. Also, you won’t be around as many kids with as much of a chance of getting sick (if you’re pregnant) and bringing germs to your child.

List down all the pros and cons for each option on a piece of paper.
Looking at them visually will enable you to organize your thoughts better.
If all else fail, touch your heart with your hand and ask your heart for guidance and follow your intuition.

you mentioned 3 options but i only see 2. therefore i assume 3rd option is go to school and not work at all. if i had to choose i would go with option 1. good luck.

First take the test and find out if you’re pregnant. If you are, take the job where you can bring your child. Thus no daycare, no additional fees and/or guilt for anyone else watching your child. Also more time to study since it’s part time.
If you have to pay for daycare for your child, the $7.25/hour you make at work won’t do it. After taxes you will be in the negative.

What was the third option?
Out of the two you gave, I think Option 2 is the best. I would really cringe at the thought of having other people raise my child five days/40 hours a week while I raised someone else’s kids. Kind of messed up, huh?
As long as Option 2 pays the bills, I think it’s good. It will give you time with your child and time for study. Sounds good to me.

Since there is a posibility you might be pregnant, I believe that it is important you make a decision that will give you more financial stability. I honestly believe your best option would be to work at the day care center. You will be working your 40 hours there and will be making more money then the other jobs. Yes it may be alot of hours but remember that you have to save as much money as you can before your little one is born. The other jobs are further and will require more gas, and more gas means more money. Plus those jobs might not give you stability. What if the parents were to decide to enroll their children into daycare. Then you will be out of a job. I suggest you work at the day care until you can’t work anymore. Apply for disability, there is financial help you can recieve for being on maternity leave. Then meanwhile you can apply to be a nanny and take your baby with you. There are always jobs for nannies. Hi I’m most impressed by your concern for the baby, Before i write any further I must mention that my answer is not professional as i’ve got no training or experience in this field.
you mentioned having 3 options but listed only two out, does it mean you’ve screened out the third? (I’m not implying that I disapprove of these two but would really have loved to know all the options)
In the absence of the third I recommend you go for the second option, reasons being I believe you really need the free hours it offers, it may not be a guaranteed job as the first but I guess your restrictions only last a few months after delivery plus when working for a family the employees are usually more considerate with family issues

The other negative on job #3 is that you are still required to report the income and pay taxes on it, and taxes would be higher than job #1 since you’d be paying both halves of the social security. If you don’t claim it and the IRS catches up to you, you can be in serious trouble for tax evasion.
You aren’t real clear for the second job on whether they are taking taxes out. They should, but many people in this situation don’t – if they don’t, they’re probably doing something illegal, but unless you got that straightened out, you’d have to pay both halves of the social security. That would come to about $15 a week extra over what you’d pay if they took out the taxes and paid the employer half.
Good luck in making your decision. There’s no one situation that’s best – only you can decide what the extra hours, the extra commute, or the extra money are worth to you.

I would say option 2(Nanny) would be a good choice for several reasons, 1, it is not that far from your house, you would only work 2 days a week, and your child can be with you, and since they are claiming the money their taxes, it won’t cut down on your income, and the spoiled brat can always be taken care of, and you can still make a total of $200 a week, which is still quite good,, just think about it, and depending on how much money you want, and what the advantages, and disadvantages are, you will surely come to a final conclusion

You might have another option that you haven’t mentioned here. There are many good legitimate home internet marketing opportunities…Many with very little or no cost to get started and provide you with personal websites and training to get started…
Despite the claims you may see in some of the ads, you may not get rich quick with the legitimate company’s, but this would solve the baby concerns and with the right company, you could be making decent money in just a few months….
