I think it's perfectly acceptable to ask the initial family if it's okay. Then ask the new family if it's okay with them.

I think I'd just be honest with the initial family and tell them that you could really use the money and this would be one day, occasionally. I'm sure they'll be accomodating. Just don't take a sick child to their home and make sure the
other kid is well behaved.

Tell the new family that you'd need to help them out, but that you'll have to sometimes take their child to your other job.

Well, I think you should ask both parents. If they both say yes then I think it would be fun for the girls to meet each to her. It is important to do that in a child's life. I think you are doing great as a nanny, I mean as far as I've heard. Hope that helped!

As long as you are asking the first family (restaurant). It would not be a great idea to ask the second family if you don't have a work relationship yet. If the first family occasionally needs you for extra hours, then they are going to have to work with you and your schedule. You also need to make sure it is alright with the second family.

Only with the permission of both parents first- or you could be looking at losing both jobs. That would be bad news for all of you.

Your best bet is to ask the family.

when I worked as a nanny I had to do this same thing one time, and the parents didn't seem to mind. The kids had a blast playing together. However, it was just a one day thing. If it's going to be a constant thing I would suggest choosing just one family to work for.

Ask BOTH sets of parents. If they both agree, fine. If not, don't do it.
