That they are attentive and want the kids to learn, not throw them in front of the TV. Do projects, play outside, that sort of thing.
When someone leaves their kids with you, it is the most important thing in the world. If they can trust you and believe in you to do a good job and keep their child safe and well cared for, all else doesn’t matter.

I think to me the most important quality in a babysitter is trust. However, when you’ve just met someone they havent earned your trust yet. I would say if you are starting your own babysitting business that the best thing to do would be to start sitting for people who already know you so you can build up a network of people who trust you!

PATIENCE (let the parents know when their child had a rough day and show them you handled it fine). RELIABILITY (do not call in a lot, unless your deathly ill, open daycare) HONESTY (let them know the good and bad about the child, do not lie to them about if the child was well behaved),HOW ACTIVE YOU ARE WITH THEIR CHILDREN (do lots of activities and have the kids bring them home. this shows you spend a lot of time with the children rather then them spending Time in front of of the tv)

Honesty…
Patience…
Kindness…
These are the most Important qualities a Perfect Babysitter would have
Honesty- Telling Parents what you REALLY feed their kids.
(Cheetos and Pepsi)
Patience- Being delighted to wait outside bathroom door while Toddler is taking FOREVER in there.
Kindness- Kid kicks you and says I **** you and you say Thanks. How cute.
Hope this helps

Honesty and trust would be the top 2 for me. I want to know that the person I am leaving my children with will not lie to me about anything that goes on while I’m away and will not harm my children in any way, shape or form. I also want to be sure that if I’m having somebody come into my house to watch my children that they will not be going through things that they shouldn’t be and that they do not steal from my family. I would want them to follow any directions that I left for the kids and if they have to question ANYTHING then I would expect them to call me right away.
