I’m 14 and live in hemel hempstead, hertfordshire and i am looking for work as a babysitter. First of all can i advertise myself as a babysitter at the age of 14? Second what places in hemel could i use to advertise myself i am allowed to?

If you have a local shop or post office just put up a sign saying babysitter available and your number.

What I did in my neighborhood was,because I can’t drive yet, I made flyers and put them in my neighborhoods newspaper holders. This way my customers were near by enough to bike to.

First of all be very safety conscience. Never put your full name, address, and phone number. Also make sure your parents know you are doing this and checks out the situation before you sit for any family.
That said, you can post your services at grocery stores, and other such shops. They usually have a board posted somewhere to to do this. Always ask permission and what the rules are for posting. Include what areas you are available to babysit in.
Also some neighborhoods has a newsletter or website where you can post your babysitting services so check to see if that is possible.
If you have babysat in the past ask for referrals from your clients. If you did a good job they will be glad to recommend you.
If you can get certified as a babysitter. There are several programs including child safety ones that you can get certified in. Parents will like to hire you better if you do this.
