   No matter the situation, a babysitter would NEVER have permission to use physical discipline on my child. If i ever found out that the sitter had they would be fired immediately.

   The only person who should ever spank my child is myself or her family (ie, grandparents, father ect) but aside from that no one has the right to put their hand on a child regardless of the circumstances.

   I would never approve of a babysitter spanking my child because I don’t, nor have I ever, spanked my child.

   Spanking is a form of punishment that I am 100 % against, and if that ever happened I would fire that babysitter on the spot.

   First of all I would NEVER give a babysitter or anyone else permission to spank my child. That is something a parent should do if they choose to use it in their home. You can’t trust someone else won’t be overboard or abusive. I would never allow a sitter to discipline my child in any form, spanking or otherwise, in my absence. If they have problems they can let me or my husband know and we’ll handle it.

   Secondly, if a sitter or caregiver ever laid a hand on my child that way they had better pray that their lawyer was better than mine because there would be some major repercussions for it.

   A sitter is there to care for things the child needs in the parents absence, to make sure they are safe from harm in the parents absence. Anyone who watches my child had better darn well treat him like he’s royalty in my absence, plain and simple.

   I don’t think there is ever a reason for a baby sitter to spank a child in their care. If the child is being unruly then they should be sent to their room for the evening by their sitter.

   Just as tomcat said, if a babysitter smacked ethier of my daughters without my consent, they would find themselves over my knee getting a taste of the same treatment!!

    I have done my share of babysitting and given a couple of spankings.

    Yes, parent thought it would be better than making the kids wait.

    My daughterwas10at the time
    They were same sex
    I gave permission
    Yes I approve.

    My little girl sassed off and the sitter took a hairbrush to my daughters bare rump. My daughter knows therules andten is way too old for sassing people.

    It is not outlandish for a parent to give a babysitter permission to spank. The babysitter has to be mature and trustworthy–but you really don’t want someone watching your kids who is not mature and trustworthy. I have given a couple of babysitters permission to spank but they never had to do it.
