Bride2Be asked:
I work part time as a nanny and I just found out that they are using a nanny cam. I am also an EMT resident. I am finishing my internship with the hospital and with the ambulance company.
The Problem, I don’t care that they use a nanny cam but what I do have a problem with is that they may be recording conversations that I have on my cell phone with My Fiance, my bank, or regarding patient care. They have a right to know what is going on with there child but How far do you push it? Some conversations are quit personal. I am afraid that they may of overheard conversations dealing with patient care, my money issues or personal problems me and My fiance are having?
What I can do?

Wow, that is a consideration. They do not have the right to monitor your private conversations that are on your cell phone and on your time. You must maintain your privacy. You can limit your personal conversations to your own time, when you are not on the cam and being employed a s a Nanny. Keep and protect your financial privacy , it is a nightmare if you do not. Hipaa laws and professionalism demand that you never discuss patient information outside of practice anyway, and if you do, you may not identify individuals. If you are not a licensed health care worker you ought not to be doing so outside of clinic and in the arena of patient care anyway.

That’s easy enough. You are working part time. I think you can wait to talk to your boyfriend til you are on your own time. As a nanny, why are you discussing these issues on the phone anyway? Aren’t you suppose to be attending your nanny duties?
Bottom line, Do what you are being paid to do and leave the personal phone calls to your personal time.
