Which girl name do you like better?
Posted by adminOct 31
My husband and I are having a baby girl in December, but we can’t decide on a name. We’ve narrowed it down to three names that we really love. Which one do you like best, and why? Which is your least favorite and why? We really want your honest opinions, just no rude comments. We’d love middle name suggestions, but keep first name suggestions to a minimum. Here are the names we’ve chosen:
Ella-Ann Christine- Ella is a name we both love, Ann is after my grandmother who recently passed, and Christine is a name we love, but also happens to be my aunt’s name.
Charlotte-Rose Kristine- Charlotte is also a name we love, and Rose is my middle name. We’d spell Christine with a K because we think there would be too many Chs if we spelled it the traditional way. Do you think this name is too long?
Vivienne Grace- Just a name we love. Not sure on the middle name, though. I’d really like to use a family name, but I can’t figure out how to make it flow.
Here’s the family names (I’ll also write the men’s names in case you know a feminine version) I know it’s tough to make these into middle names, so if you don’t have the time or patience you don’t have to, I’d just appreciate it since all of these people have had HUGE roles in my life. My husband isn’t close to his family, unfortunately.
Mary Virginia (my grandmother, but she went by her middle name)
Anne Mary (my other grandmother. The grandkids all called her Nanny Annie)
Colleen Mary (my mother’s name, but Colleen is already my oldest daughter’s middle name, so let’s leave that one out.)
Kelley Marie (aunt)
Erin Maureen (aunt)
Christine Mary (aunt)
Silvia Ida (aunt, but I really don’t like the name Ida, so let’s leave that one out.)
Thomas Patrick (uncle)
John Michael (uncle)
James Edward (uncle)
Thomas Richard (cousin)
Jamie-Lee (cousin, this is a girl btw, i know it’s a unisex name so i just wanted to let you know)
Benjamin James (cousin)
Kelly Elizabeth (cousin)
Shea Ellen (sister)
Jamie Erin (sister)
I really appreciate your help, it means so much to my family and I. Like I said, you don’t have to do anything with the family names if it is too much work, but if you do I’ll appreciate your assistance that much more.
Ok, a couple things- First, we’ve decided that the three first names are DEFINITE, so no first name suggestions, please. Second, (this is for steph_k) I guess I failed to mention that my name was Virginia, Ginny for short lol, so I’d never give that name to my daughter. My husband’s name is Rob, but please no suggestions for the middle name Roberta or something. We knocked that one off the list a while ago. OK well thanks so much for your help!!!!!!

Vivienne ellen Grace that would be a really pretty name and it has parts from all the family. I also think you could put anne instead of ellen for the middle name.

Of the three choices, I really like Vivenne Grace. It just seemed to flow and it sounded really nice.
Ella’s a great name too, but putting it with ‘Ann’ made it sound a big awkward, because ‘Ella’ ends with an a and ‘Ann’ starts with an a and… it just sounded awkward to me when I tried saying the name out loud. It could just be me, however.

I like Charlotte-Rose Kristine. It sounds beautiful!! Ella-Ann is ok, but it does not flow as easily as the others. Vivienne Grace is also pretty! Good luck and congrats!

Vivienne Grace is a beautiful adorable flowing unique name the other two seem too long.
Have you thought about your grandmothers name – using Virginia? Maybe shortened to Ginny?

Ella-Ann Christine is great! It’s not too long and Ella Ann is a cute combination! I love it. I see that Mary is a common name of girls in your family. Maybe you could do Ella Mary-Ann for a middle name! Just a suggestion!*

in the first set of names I like Ella Ann. Ella is my favorite out of all the first names because it is unique, but very beautiful and elegant. maybe you could do Ella kristine. I think with the short first name it needs a longer middle name. plus I think it flows really well.
I dont like the Kristine Charlotte. I think because it does not flow well. I think the flow of the name is important.
Charlotte rose flows very nicely. and is pretty.
for the Vivienne grace. I think that you could change the Micheal in your uncles name to Michelle. and name your baby Vivienne Michelle. I think that this is a beautiful name.
you could take the Lee from your cousin Jamies name and add Ann to it. So the middle name could be LeeAnn.
Ella Leeann
Charlotte Leeann
Kristine Leeann
Vivienne Leeann.
Rose Leeann
Grace Leeann
it works with a lot of the names you are looking at. good luck. and congratulations.

I like Ella Ann Christine the best. I don’t know why, it just sounds nice.
The one I like least is Vivienne Grace. I kind of sounds weird, no offence. Plus, people are always going to say her name wrong, which will annoy her.

Vivienne Grace is by far my favourite. Although I like Grace as the middle name, and Vivienne as just the first name. Congrats and the baby! God Bless
