I am only 12, and I know most adults will not trust a babysitter under 13. I am completely aware of this. I am also willing to wait until I turn 13. I have already taken the red cross babysitters course, and I have been around young children a long time, so I am very good with them and I know how to change a diaper, feed them correctly, and I know tons of age friendly games to play with them. So my question for you is, what else can I do to become a truly amazing babysitter that the parents and children love, by time im 13? Thank you!

Sounds like you are doing well. Just make sure you are playing with the kids not talking on the phone, etc when you do start babysitting.

You would have to start out real slow..U know look for your family;s babies or friends babies take care of them get paid maybe 40 to 50 a day atleast for now. As you get more experience you will format a resume. MAybe open up your own lil facility in your house, or you can always go to a daycare center they may need help.

Become certified in CPR, it is a huge thing that shows you are able to save a child’s life in some circumstances, and shows you are serious about baby sitting.
Good grades do not hurt, it shows you are responsible in school and have priorities, which shows maturity as well.
Know what happens if a child becomes sick with a fever, falls and cuts them-self and needs stitches or stops breathing! All these things are serious things that could happen when you baby sit.
You have to realize a parent is putting the life of their child in your hands, and that is a HUGE responsibility. You have to do things to prove you are ready for such a responsibility.
Good Luck.

Treat others as you want to be treated.

Did your baby-sitting course include first-aide and cpr? I took first aid when I was 13 and oddly enough, my first customer was a lady in my first-aide class who was the wife of a law student. Then they told other law students who had little kids, and I had all the business I could handle! I also baby-sat for some of my teachers at school, and for some friends of our next door neighbors.
I was a great baby-sitter. I could cook supper, give the kids their bath, and get them to bed on time! I liked reading to them too, but I did not know any games. Games are definitely a plus.

start spreading the word, tell your parents friends first, teachers, people at church, etc. Everybody needs a babysitter, be sure to have your prices ready and keep a good schedule!

If you have family friends who have young children, offer your services for a small fee to occupy the children while their Mom bakes, cleans, wraps presents, etc. that way you will gain experience (and recommendations) while there is still a responsible adult around. If I had a 12-year-old with your knowledge nearby, I’d gladly pay for some help once in a while.
When you’re ready to start babysitting, know what questions to ask. Be interested in what games the children like, what their favorite foods are, etc. Leave the television off and actually play with the kids, while still following all of their parents’ rules and you will be the babysitter that everyone wants.
Good luck. You’ve got a great start already.

You could start by being a mothers helper Many mothers will hire you as a helper, but just on certain occasions. You could play with them in their rooms while their mom gets some cleaning done or to help with the kids while she runs errands. The mother will see how good you are with kids and hire you as a sitter when you get a little older.
