1. Put in a DVD/video. What is it about children that they can watch the same movie over and over again? Take advantage of this fact.

2. Barter with the parent of your child’s friend. She can take them to a movie or watch them at her house for the day. Just be sure to return the favor on a weekend or day your home business is closed.

3. Check with your local YMCA or museums. Many of them offer special full or half day programs on school holidays.

4. Put them to work. Smaller children can certainly stuff envelopes. Older ones can possible handle data entry. Let them practice their alphabetizing skills with your orders. Either you will get clerical work done by your helpers or they will stay out of your hair so they won’t have to help.

5. Hire a babysitter. If schools are closed, that means your high school aged babysitter is off for the day, too. Ask her to watch the kids for a few hours or all day. Then close the door to your office and ask her not to disturb you unless it is an emergency.

Research has shown that one of the best activities a parent can get her child involved in is Spanish for children.

The benefits of Spanish for children are numerous. Proven among them are:

Higher test scores
Better language retention

And, most importantly, the child is given all the benefits a second language naturally brings. For example, more social opportunities, and as the economy becomes more globalized, a more prosperous future.

The problem is that many parents take the wrong approach to teaching their children Spanish, and as a result, their child not only gives up, but they come to resent their second language.

How The Brain Learns A New Language

The human brain is designed to best learn new languages through “immersion.”

In fact, the brain is best designed for this learning process from ages 0 to 12!

This means that the brain can subconsciously and easily pick up a second language just by being surrounded by it.

No formal lessons are necessary using the immersion process.

Don’t believe me? Think about when your child was a baby.

She came into the world without any language knowledge, obviously. She also didn’t receive any formal lessons in language.

Yet, within two years, she was conversational in her first language.

That’s the “immersion” process at work. Her brain, without any work, naturally picked up the language.

This is the best way to learn a new language for all people, from children to adults. The brain just does it more efficiently in children.

How To Teach Your Child Spanish

Using the immersion process with your child is easy.

Simply start speaking to them in Spanish!

Don’t know Spanish yet? Not to worry — you can pick up the basics within about a week or two, and then start learning along with your child. In fact, this will only help the process.

Make sure others are speaking to your child in Spanish, too. Many children are bilingual simply because they had a baby sitter who spoke only their second language to them.

Whatever you do, just make sure your child is immersed in the language whenever possible! Alternate between English and Spanish.

Once your child is better at the language (which will be faster than you think), you can move on to more advanced techniques.

If your interest is teaching Spanish for children, then you are making an amazing decision by using the latest research on language learning and following the methods I’ve provided.

The best gift a parent can give their child is the ability to speak a second language, like Spanish. The best time to teach a new language, like Spanish, is when a child is a toddler. Teaching a second language has been proven to not only strengthen a child’s ability in their first language, but it also:

Leads to higher scores on standardized tests when they’re older
Better retention of language
Better memory

And many more benefits.

To understand why “toddler time” is the best time to learn a second language, it’s important to go over how a first language is acquired. Think about when your child was born. Obviously, they couldn’t speak any language, and going through formal language training with them would be a waste of time. But, after about two years, your child was conversational in their first language!

How did this happen? Through the process of language immersion. The child’s brain is wired to, essentially, solve puzzles at such a young age. This is why children, before their teens, are able to pick up on patterns and learn new processes very easily. This ability is at its strongest from ages 0-5, and then slowly goes down from 6-12.

The best way to give your child the benefit of a second language is to take advantage of this brain development time, and start when they’re toddlers. Simply follow the same “language immersion” process that you inadvertently used to teach them their first language!

Instead of asking your child if they want to eat an orange, ask them if they want to eat a “naranja”. Sprinkle the Spanish language throughout their every day lives. See if you can get a baby sitter or nanny or who speaks Spanish, and will only speak Spanish when they are around your toddler.

If you don’t know any Spanish yourself, don’t worry! You can pick up enough useful phrases and words in the language within about two weeks that you can use to start benefitting your toddler right away.

The best time to teach Spanish to a child is when they’re a toddler. Take advantage of this age and help your child grow to their best potential. Good luck!

You might be thinking, “What the heck does saying goodbye to saying goodbye mean? Let me try to explain. Today we all know that for most of us it takes 2 incomes just to meet our needs. Dad leaves for work early and tells Mom and the kids, “Goodbye.” Mom loads the kids up and either takes them to school, the baby sitter or day care and Mom says “Goodbye” to the kids.

Wouldn’t it be nice if Mom and Dad didn’t have to say goodbye to each other and the kids before going to work? Wouldn’t it be nice if the kids didn’t have to go to the baby sitter or day care?

Wouldn’t it be nice if Mom and Dad could work from home and make more money working their own business and still be there for the kids during the day or be at home when the kids get home from school?

You might be asking yourself, “How can I say goodbye to saying goodbye and still work?” Here’s how. Start your own home based business. Now you might be saying, “A home based business doesn’t work or all home based businesses are scams.”

You might be thinking, “I know that a home based business doesn’t work because Uncle Joe tried one and he failed.” Or maybe you tried working a home based business and you failed. I’ll let you in on a little secret. It probably wasn’t your fault.

Most people fail at home businesses because they don’t have anyone to teach them how to market their businesses on the Internet. They get discouraged and give up saying, “This home business stuff doesn’t work.”

If this sounds familiar, I have great news for you. You DON’T have to fail in a home based business. You just need someone who is successful to show you how to succeed. We have those successful people who are more than willing to teach, train and help you be successful.

Don’t you think it’s time to say goodbye to saying goodbye to your family and start saying hello to a new, fulfilling and successful future? It doesn’t matter how old or young you are, you can work from home. Isn’t it time to say goodbye to your job, your boss and the traffic that you have to drive in to get to and from work?

Isn’t it time to say goodbye to living paycheck to paycheck and having more month at the end of your money? Isn’t it time to say goodbye to the day care center and or baby sitter? If you think about it, most working Moms work to pay a baby sitter with just a little left over.

Isn’t it time to say goodbye to paying high gas prices to go to work? Instead of paying those high gas prices to go to and from work, why not spend that money and time doing things you enjoy doing with your family instead of spending time with your boss?

Ask yourself this question: Who is more important to you, your family or your boss? I think the answer is obvious. Spend time with your family who loves you instead of your boss who couldn’t care less about your family life. Your boss just wants the job done. PERIOD!

It doesn’t matter how long or hard you have to work to get the job done. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that the more time you work away from home the more time you are away from your family, friends and the things you love to do.

Let’s face it, NOBODY lives forever. That’s an obvious understatement. Now, ask yourself this: Who do you want to spend the majority of your life with? Your family or your boss? Also think about this: What do you want to do with the rest of your life? Doing whatever you darn well please or working for someone else?

I don’t know what you’ve decided, but I’ve decided to work for myself at home and spend as much time with my family as I can and say aloha to my boss. You can have more time and money than you ever dreamed of working from home.

If you are ready to say goodbye to saying goodbye to your family, check out one of the websites for more information. I believe your family will thank you.

When it comes to designing and implementing a home security camera system what works for one house may not work for yours. The design will need to be customized to your particular floor plan and security needs. Do you have kids, a nanny, a home office where you keep important business documents, or a safe that you store all your valuables in? These are just a few of the consideration you will need to contemplate while during the design of your home security camera system.

The first obvious place for camera coverage is the main entry way to you home. This will make screening who is at your front door before you open it much safer. This can be particularly true if you have kids who open the door every time the door bell rings. Knowing who is on the other side before anyone opens the door can bring great piece of mind.

If you have small children who like to play in the yard a system of security cameras is a great way to keep an eye on them and spot anyone who may come into your yard. You can also monitor any suspicious activity that may be occurring on or near your property and report it to the proper authorities. Further if you use a baby sitter regularly cameras inside the home will allow you to make sure that your kids are being properly cared for. In this day and age you can never provide enough safety for your loved ones.

Depending upon the application you can also specify what kind of camera you want for a given area. For outdoor area you may want a more traditional security camera that is mounted on a base. These are visible to anyone coming onto your property and can act as a deterrent to anyone who may wish to harm you or your property. Inside the home you may want to go with a more discreet micro security camera. These can be disguised as any number of household items such as a picture frame or stuffed animal. Because of their small size there is some loss of image resolution, but inside a home that is not as much of an issue.

Finding the right home security camera system for you will take some research and planning if you want to get the most out of such a system. But when it comes to the safety of you home and family taking shortcuts is not something that you want to do.

If you are planning on giving flowers or candy on Mother’s Day for a young mother, that is a nice gesture. However, if you really want to make her day, get her what she really, really wants…a babysitter.

Although we young mothers love our little ones, there is nothing that would make Mother’s Day more special than an offer of time away. This could be time to go on a date with her husband or even a day of shopping with no kids. If you offer to babysit for her, she will be elated.

If you can’t babysit for her or if you are the husband of this young mother, taking the initiative and finding a great babysitter will make any young mother happier than anything else you could spend your money on.

Don’t know where to start? An easy choice is to try an online babysitter network like Sittercity. With hundreds of thousands of care providers, it will be quite easy to find one that she will love. So for less than $100, you can get her a year’s membership so you can hunt for a great sitter today and you will be able to give her the break she needs as a gift for Mother’s Day.

She will be so happy that you did.
