The use of home security systems continue to maintain an elevated spiral with a lot of first time security camera owners join the ranks of the existing protective home owners. This is certainly good news but a major issue revolves around knowing the various kinds of security camera systems available in the market today. You must also be aware of the location where you exactly need to install the camera. With the increasing technology and the use of computers, it is easy to install a security camera at a low price.

More than picking the right kind of security systems, it is important to plan your new security system properly. I am not going to write volumes on this, but just a few tips for all those naives out there. A lot of inexperienced home owners rush out and make a quick decision even before checking to see what they actually need.

Well, here’s what you need to do initially. Take a brief tour of your property and make a map of it. Make sure you are as accurate as possible in the process. Now behave like an intruder in your own house and determine the spots where you can reach the property from. Mark out all the entrances and exits. These will be the prime areas where you need the security cameras.

Now that you have all the blind spots, you must consult a professional security advisor. You must also know that you can always add more cameras around your house to increase the security. But the most important spots are those that you surveyed being an intruder in your own house.

Your reasons for installing a home security system could be many, but mainly it boils down to peace of mind. Statistically speaking, those without alarm systems are three times more likely to have their homes broken into.

Security systems will help to prevent loss of life and property. Keep in mind, that your home and those contained within are your most valuable possessions, those that are the most important to you.

So when you are looking to purchase a system, invest time as well as money and make sure you get the one that is right for you.

Why Should You Choose Honeywell Home Security System?

Each home security system has it’s own features, but there are a few manufacturers that you should check out. One of these is the Honeywell Home Security System.

Your Options

The system from Honeywell features quite a few options. There is much more to the issue of security than just designing it and Honeywell understands that. One feature in particular that you will want to include in your system is the control panel. All security systems start with a good control panel. Once you have your security system armed, the sensors will send any alerts to this control panel, which will then automatically dial the central monitoring station to notify them that there is a problem.

Another crucial component is your keypad. The keypad found with the Honeywell Security System has illuminated keys, so that you can read it easily in the dark, easy to read displays, so you can see your system’s status with just a quick look, and one touch function keys so you can provide single button operation for arming or disarming your system.

But these are just a few options you need to consider when buying your next home security system. Honeywell, with their trusted reputation, should be one you should research thoroughly.

ADT Home Security: The Name You Trust For Your Peace Of Mind

A name that is trusted and relied upon is ADT Home Security Company.

Included in ADT Home Security’s SafeWatch Quick Connect System, is a control panel, a large LCD display, two dor or window contacts, motion detector, two way voice communication, wirelesss capabilities and a wireless remote. It has everything needed to keep your family and home safe and sound.

If you decide on ADT, you need to look into the specials that are running at the moment.

Some of ADT’s selling points are the guarantees and certificates that follows:

ADT Money-Back Service Guarantee: Refunds the installation price and pays all monitoring fees if you are not satisfied within six months.*

Theft Protection Guarantee: Pays your insurance deductible (up to $500) in the event of a burglary.*

Homeowner’s Insurance Certificate: Can save you up to 20% on your homeowner’s insurance.*

*Some Restrictions May Apply

What About Guardian Home Security?

One feature of Guardian Home Security System is that it owns and operates its central monitoring station. They never subcontract monitoring duties to other central stations, as other security companies may do.

Having two back up generators for their central monitoring station, and software and hardware redundancy, means that you can count on them to be on duty to keep you home safe 24 hours a day.

Which One?

Which one you choose is, of course, up to you. Do your research and pick the Home Security System that is right for you and your family.

Planning the wedding often get’s left mostly to the bride, and that’s okay because as a woman you’ve probably spent a lifetime envisioning this day – the dress, the ceremony, the reception, and of course that perfect unique and elegant wedding favor.

You might even have a folder that has unique wedding favor ideas in it. Now remember that some of those neat ideas that you clipped years ago today might not seem quite so elegant now, but you can always take one idea and combine it or change it to make your own personalized wedding favor.

The wedding favor is the small gift that you present to each of your guests. It’s the souvenir of your wedding, which your guests get to take home. Themed Favors are a great choice, especially if your wedding has a specific theme. For example, a beach wedding does well with an wedding favor such as a flip-flop keychain, or perhaps, more elegantly, a beach themed gift box with a personalized wedding favor inside. The more elegant wedding favor in the gift box could be a delicate dried starfish, some shells, or any other item that was beach orientated. Beach is used as the example because there are so many beach weddings occurring. However, it doesn’t matter what your theme; you can easily make a personalized wedding favor for each of your guest.

Pirate weddings on the high seas, Las Vegas party weddings, or the new black and white wedding are just a few other examples of themed wedding that are going on that can easily have a unique wedding favor.

An article on favors wouldn’t be complete without at least talking a little bit about inappropriate favors. Some brides and grooms mean well when their idea of an elegant wedding favor includes some romantic poem or a love song. We advise you to keep the romance for each other, and give your guests something they would like as a keepsake of your day.

You can go simple with delicious handpicked candies that are monogrammed, or M&M’s in the wedding colors with your name and wedding date on them. You can step it up a little with monogrammed scented candles.

Scented candles are a great way for your friends and family to remember the day. Small candles with a scent remembering your theme could be perfect. Think of a fresh ocean smell for your beach theme wedding.

If you really want your guests to be able to keep there personalized wedding favor for years to come do not use perishables. Instead, consider candles, picture frames, trinkets, flasks, and other interesting items. Pewter is popular because it makes an elegant wedding favor choice, and it is very affordable.

Many homeowners are making the decision to have their home protected by an alarm company. This is certainly a wise decision considering the fact that a home is burglarized approximately every 15 seconds in the United States. Still, when you hire an alarm company to protect your home and your family, you want to make sure that you hire the absolute best company with the most trustworthy reputation and equipment. How do you know which company can be relied upon the most?

The first step is to make a list of what you want your alarm company to provide. Technology has certainly advanced in the last few years and when you begin looking around you will find that most alarm companies can provide a wide range of options.

Some of the factors that you may wish to consider include whether you want a wired or a wireless monitoring system, the number of control pads you require, the type of response you would like to alarm company to make and whether you want camera coverage of your property.

After you have developed an idea of your security needs, it is time to begin speaking with home security monitoring companies. Keep in mind that it is generally a good idea to obtain estimates from three different companies. This will give you the ability to compare not only prices but also the level of security that each company offers.

Be sure to ask each company about the type of screening that they enlist when they are hiring company reps. After all; it will not provide you with much home security to have an alarm system installed if the alarm company you choose does not perform criminal background checks on their employees. Also, make sure you find out what type of training and certification the company provides to its employees.

Other questions you will want to pose to each company include whether they handle all of their own installation and monitoring work or whether they sub-contract any of their workload. Most major brands like ADT and Brinks have local home security dealers that will do certified installation work at the highest standards. It is always best to choose a company that handles everything in-house from sales to installation to monitoring. This is the safest avenue.

In addition, you need to find out whether the monitoring station for the company is open 24/7 to ensure that your home truly will receive around-the-clock monitoring. Burglars work all hours of the day and night and your home security company should as well.

You will also need to evaluate how the company will perform in the event of an emergency. Find out how the company will communicate with you in order to confirm that there is an emergency. Does the company offer additional features, like emergency tech support?

Finally, reliable security system must remain flexible in order to work well. This means that you will need to evaluate how responsive the company will be in the event you need to change your information. Along those lines, take the time to find out how the company will ensure that it is really you who is making changes. Safeguards should be in place for this purpose.

We all want our families to be safe and in the modern world that we live in today advances in technology can help keep our families safe and give us peace of mind. There are almost countless options when it comes to home security systems today. Choosing the various supplies and components you’ll need will depend on the degree of protection you require and of course any budgetary restrictions. So let’s talk about some of the home security system supplies available today.

There are security cameras, both wired and wireless. These cameras may act as a deterrent to any potential thieves. Wireless cameras are relatively easy to install and can be done by a do-it-yourselfer over the course of the weekend.

Every home security system will have magnetic contacts. These contacts are used to detect when a door or window is opened. One contact would be in the door itself the other contact being in the door jamb. When the connection is broken the alarm is triggered.

Motion detectors are also a common components in a home security system. For outdoor use, a motion detector can be used to turn on a light when someone approaches the house. They may also be used to sound a chime alerting you to the fact that someone is approaching the house. Indoors, motion detectors can cover any area that you wish. You may not have every door and window in your house equipped with magnetic contacts. If that is the case, those particular doors or windows can serve as access points that would not trigger an alarm. However, a motion detector can cover an area such as this.

Another important component in a home security system are glass break sensors. If someone were to break a window but the window frame remains intact it may not trigger an alarm equipped with magnetic contacts. In this case, the glass break sensor would detect the sound that breaking glass makes and trigger the alarm.

Other home security system supplies that are available today include smoked detectors, gas and carbon monoxide detectors, temperature and humidity sensors, photoelectric beam detectors, and more. The list of available components and features seems almost endless. It certainly is a good idea to equip your home with a security system but it’s also a good idea to do your homework before getting started with the project.

Security has always been a key concern for people living in independent houses. Thanks to the recent spurt in burglary and house break-ins, this concern has become much more critical. The selection of home security door lock can prove pretty challenging. To help you, by means of this article, we are presenting the findings of our examination of different considerations in selection of a home security door lock.

There are several different kinds of locking mechanisms that are available at any hardware store. However, we suggest that you choose a deadlock mechanism for your home security door lock because breaking a deadlock requires more effort and up to 15 times more time as well. But your task doesn’t get much simpler as the variety in deadlocks is itself staggering.

There are three common deadbolt designs to look at for a home security lock, they are designated by the amount of cylinders in each mechanism. The kind you choose is dependent on the type of door you are installing the lock into. The three are the single cylinder deadbolt lock, the double cylinder deadbolt lock or the single cylinder deadbolt with removable thumb turn.

Selection of a home security door lock is also dependent on your budget. The amount of money you are willing to spend on a deadbolt lock is pivotal in determining which material the deadbolt is made of. If you can afford to go for patented alloy steels over iron deadbolts, the lock will be sturdier and provide maximum safety.

You also must decide between the different options for keying as their are locks that allow the key to be inserted from both the outside and the inside, while others only allow from the outside. This second type could be trouble if you forget your keys, since the key isn’t required to secure the lock but you must have it to unlock! Whether you select a one or two-way key mechanism will be based entirely upon your own personal needs.

As always, selecting your deadbolt lock will require you to check on the keys nature. If the key contains multiple grooves, such as multiple levers in the lock, a robber will find it difficult to duplicate the key to open the lock.

There are an incredible number of options today for people that are interested in installing a home security system. As technology advances more and more options become available and the prices get lower. A good home security system can not only protect you from theft and give you peace of mind it can also save your life. But with so many options available it can be difficult to choose the system that’s right for you.

So how do you compare home security systems? How do you make sure you pick the best system to suit your needs? We’ll start by discussing some of the various options available today. Some of the various features of today’s home security systems are:

- Magnetic contacts: Just about any security system you get today it will have magnetic contacts. Magnetic contacts are used on doors and windows to alert you or your monitoring company when a door or window has been opened. In a door for example one contact will be in the door itself and the other contact will be in the doorframe. As long as these contacts stay together everything is fine. When that contact is broken the alarm is triggered.

- Motion detectors: A motion detector does exactly what you would expect it to do, it detects motion. Motion detectors can be used outdoors to turn on lights or to sound the time to notify you when someone comes onto your property. Motion detectors are also used indoors to detect an intruder. You may not have magnetic contacts on every door and window in your house and if someone is able to get inside without triggering those contacts they would set off the motion detectors once they get inside.

- Glass break sensors: Glass break sensors are a good thing to have. With magnetic contacts there is a contact in the window frame but if someone breaks the window to window frame will stay intact and may not set off the alarm. But, a glass break sensor will detect the sound of the glass breaking and set off the alarm.

- Panic buttons: A panic button can be pushed to trigger the alarm immediately if there is an intruder. Many security systems will have a delay to allow the homeowner time to go inside and turn off the alarm so it is not automatically triggered every time you enter your home. If you happen to be home and there is an intruder you can push the panic button to trigger your alarm and notify your monitoring company immediately. When the alarm is triggered the monitoring company will call your house to see if it was a false alarm or not. If you don’t answer the phone or if you answer the phone and give them the wrong password they will notify the police immediately.

- Security cameras: Security cameras, if placed in a visible location, can act as a deterrent to any would be intruders. If someone does break into your house the video can also be helpful in apprehending the criminal.

- Wireless systems: Many systems are hardwired into your houses electrical system. Installing these systems requires running wires throughout the house. A wireless system is much easier to install because there is a lot less electrical work to do. A wireless system uses radio frequencies to connect all of the various components of the security system.

Many security systems today will not only protect you against break-ins but also have smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and other features. With these types of features, and a monitoring service, the fire department would be notified in the event of a house fire which could save your life, or save your house if no one is home to call the fire department.

This is just a brief description of some of the many options available to homeowners today. When comparing home security systems you may want to consult with a professional to help you choose your best options. Another consideration when choosing a system is your budget. You’ll want to get as much protection as you can while spending only what you can afford to spend.

A home security system is one of those things that you buy but hope that you never actually need. But it is definitely a good investment in your family’s safety. A home security system can protect you without you even realizing it. A smart criminal will always choose the path of least resistance. If your house has an alarm system and your neighbors house does not, who do you think will be victimized by any would be burglars?

Have you ever heard of a Diversion Safe? Many people haven’t and they’re missing out on one of the neatest gadgets ever invented.

Some people call Diversion Safes by other names — Can Safes, Fake Safes, even Decoy Safes but I like to think of them as Disguised Safes.

Why? Because a Diversion Safe looks and feels exactly like what they represent, e.g. RC Cola Can, Ajax Cleanser, etc. That’s because they are! These everyday objects seen in any house are hollowed out and have a twist off top or bottom. They are also usually weighted to feel like they’re full.

Diversion Safes come in many different sizes and shapes — usually in the form of cans but you also will find Diversion Safes Candles, Books, Thermal Coffee Mugs, Flower Pots, Electrical Outlets and even Pillows.

You simply place your valuables in the hollowed out areas of the Diversion Safe and then just put it where it normally would belong.

Burglars don’t have much time to look for loot so they go to the most common places, usually your bedroom bureau, under the mattress or rug, rolled up socks, even in the freezer. Unfortunately many of us haven’t come very far when trying to hide our valuables.

Well, welcome to the 21st Century!

You can put a Diversion Safe anywhere in the house or office that it would ‘fit’ the decor. What I mean is, don’t put a 7 Up Soda Can Safe in your medicine cabinet or an Engine Degreaser Can Safe in your pantry. Even a dumb burglar might get a mite suspicious…

Diversion Safes are a great way to keep your valuables from ‘making a burglar’s day’. Every house should have some. Don’t forget, they portable so you can take them on vacation with you. Now you can take a Diversion Safe that looks exactly like shaving cream or hair spray to keep your valuables safe when you leave your motel room.

And how about your coed — Diversion Safes would be great for a dorm room or frat house.

Diversion Safes make wonderful gifts. They are unique and inexpensive but will show that you put a lot of thought in choosing a gift. Once you demonstrate how it works I have a feeling that the person would rather receive a Thermal Coffee Mug Diversion Safe than a shirt anytime.

Don’t Become a Crime Statistic.

Nanny Spy Cams

Nanny cams are hidden cameras that are used by parents to monitor their children. These cameras are named so because they are used by parents to identify abusive nannies and babysitters. Without a nanny cam in place, parents will probably never know for sure that their children are actually well taken care of by the nanny or babysitter hired for the purpose. Nanny cameras have helped several parents catch abusive nannies that otherwise would have continued to abuse or neglect their children.

Nanny cameras are compact cameras that are concealable in household items like lamps, books, or even teddy bears. The teddy bear nanny cam is one of the most popular spy cams as teddy bears are popular among kids. The spy cam is usually overlooked by the child and the care giver. The built-in camera sends superior quality images to the receiver. Parents can view the images using their TV or computer. These cameras typically use a 3.6mm lens and 92 degree viewing range.

Wireless nanny cams hidden in plants are ideal for homes and offices. An artificial plant cleverly conceals a wireless camera. The advantage of this type of camera is that it can be placed any where in your home to be used to monitor the children. It has a line of sight of up to 300 feet.

Another interesting addition to collection of nanny cameras is the air purifier concealed nanny cam. The camera fixed in the air purifier is absolutely unnoticeable. It is most suitable for office use. It generally has a 4-channel operational camera and 8 channels for reception. It produces a resolution of 380 lines for a color camera and 420 lines for a black and white one.

You can fit these nanny cameras practically anywhere. The Boom box spy camera is very useful as the boom box is portable and can be shifted to any place in your room. Wireless cameras hidden in books are another popular option as nanny cams.

The list of nanny cameras seems endless. Some other objects that can act as hidden cams are computer speakers, lamps, emergency lamps, smoke alarms, VCRs and purses. Your choice of camera will depend on your requirements including the layout of your home, the distance at which you will be monitoring the images and whether you require recording of these images.
