Okay. Let’s get serious for a moment. I want to tell you a story about a family that might come as a shock, but it could have been prevented with a free criminal record check.

The first story took place in a nice smaller town with a family that consisted of a dad, a mom, and 3 children ages 9, 6, and 2. They were all three little girls and they were the apple of their fathers eye.

Now the family needed a nanny for two weeks because the dad had to take a business trip out of the country and he was taking his wife with him. So they placed an ad in a local paper, interview a few different candidates and chose a woman that seemed to fit very well. she was middle aged, clean cut, and had a lot of experience with children.

They went on their trip and everything seemed fine as the kept in contact with their nanny and even had the neighbors call to check in with them a couple times. When they got home, though, their middle daughter was crying and told her mother that that nanny had touched her in places she shouldn’t have.

Come to find out the nanny had a history of sexual offenses and violence, but mom and dad had no idea. Had they performed a free criminal record check they would have known and would have been able choose a different nanny that would have protected their daughters instead of using them.

Now, you should know that performing this check for free is very time consuming and is not completely accurate. However, if you are looking for a more convenient way to check your nanny, contractor, gardener, new neighbor, or anybody else, then you can use a national database and for a small fee you can check anybody you want.

Spy cams have changed the way we live our life and with the use of these gadgets we can gain our trust back in child care. It is a lot easier to pick a camera but it is confusing to pick a place to hide it. It is of critical importance to choose a place, as once it is chosen the mind gets fixated with it forever. Secondly the reason to choose carefully that it is disguised in the environment is equally important. If it is easily visible people in the room are very cautious and they can tend to act differently. The ideal place to hide a nanny cam is in the bed room, as this is a vital part of every home. While constructing a room you pay special attention to this room as this is where you will relax and you baby’s crib is in this room it is an environment he is comfortable in.

The reason to spy could vary entirely on you, from sheer inquisitiveness to more serious concerns such as Is your nanny taking good care of your kid, to checking if your spouse is having an affair. To catch your better half red handed if she is misusing your trust would be the bedroom. With the proper devices and the right place she can’t lie anymore, not every time life is tough if you had a misunderstanding then installing will prove how wrong you are and you can rekindle the lost love.

Here are some possible suggestions; these are some common items one will find in their bedroom for sure. Some of the options are nightstand, curtain rod, television set, personal computer and the shelf. Firstly the night stand is always present in the bed room to create a romantic ambience; you can use it to hide the nanny cam behind any object that is always there. You should be careful the significant other is not suspicious. Nowadays you get wall clocks and pen holders that are so discreet while recording the operations for you.

Since bedroom is quite a private place you will have curtains for sure. Every camera has a limited transmission range; if you want a closer look of the nanny then installing the nanny cam right beside the crib is advisable. The video quality all depends on the model chosen by the user. Another possible hideout is the PC, every home has a personal computer and you can place the gadget along with them. A TV set is another possible choice, if the nanny is watching TV all the time instead of taking care of the child, then she is caught misusing your trust. Another great choice is the shelf that stores all your stuff; you will always find an open shelf that keeps all your things tidy. A photo frame with a camera is an excellent choice on the shelf.

Be the master of your own destiny and take things in your control to safeguard your loved ones and ensure your belongings are safe.

The Best Birth Gift

If you are thinking of hiring a nanny, no doubt you plan to choose her very carefully. We have all watched some of these scaring videos showing nannies bullying the children they were expected to take care of. Of course, to choose a woman who will not ill-treat your kid is the first point to consider. Fortunately, most nannies meet this requirement. So, which other points to come to?

I am not going to give you advice about things I know nothing about, or no more than any other mother. For medical advice, ask your doctor; for religious advice, ask your preacher; but for educational advice, ask a teacher.
Do the math:
One needs about a thousand hours to learn something. The nanny is going to spend hundreds of hours with your beloved baby. So: your baby is going to learn a lot from the nanny.
It is difficult to calculate how much time young children need to learn whatever. What we know for sure is that they learn almost continuously, from any source of knowledge that they are exposed to.
Give your kid a source of knowledge that will provide him with a lifelong benefit. Hire a Polish nanny!

Polish language has a particularity: it contains most of the phonemes of the European languages; in fact all of them except the English/American sound “TH” (but you are here), the Spanish “J” and the French “R”, called “Parisian R”.
By leaving your baby with a Polish au-pair girl regularly, you give him a gift he cannot lose or break: the ability to pronounce any phoneme without accent. There are many birth gifts but very few last lifelong.

So, even if you work at home, consider paying a Polish native speaker two hours twice a week. Your baby’s future is worth it.

Hidden cameras have become very popular in recent years with business owners, law enforcement officers and parents. Business owners often use surveillance systems to keep an eye on employees or their store to protect the business from theft or abuse. Hidden cameras are used by the police to catch criminals in the act or to record arrests as they occur. Parents use nanny cams to make sure their children are being properly treated. If you’re thinking of buying a hidden camera or other type of security camera, here’s a quick guide below.

How Hidden Cameras Work

There are two types of hidden cameras – wireless and wired. Wireless hidden cameras use batteries and have the camera and transmitter concealed with no visible wire from the camera to the recording equipment. Wired cameras will have a physical wire running from a VCR or PC to the camera.

To determine if you need a wireless or wired hidden camera, consider the length of time you will need to record. Will the batteries hold up long enough? The location of the hidden camera is also important. Hidden cameras come in a variety of shapes, forms and themes. Choose a camera that goes well with the environment around so it will be unnoticeable. Some cameras feature wide-angle viewing, which comes in handy when you need to survey a large area. Also, the lighting of the area is important. Check the hidden camera’s resolution before buying.

Types of Hidden Cameras and Security Cameras

There are many types of hidden cameras and security cameras for all situations. From dummy cameras to professional cameras, each one serves its own unique purpose. Here are some types of cameras and their benefits.

Nanny Cams

Protect your children throughout the day with a nanny cam. Even if you have a nanny you feel you can trust, it doesn’t hurt to have a nanny cam for the safety of your children and home. Nanny cams are actually hidden cameras that come in many shapes and sizes. The camera might be embedded in children’s items such as teddy bears, backpacks, baby wipe containers, dolls, stuffed animals, etc. These items can be placed in the child’s room along with other toys. There are also nanny cams for other rooms of the home, including clocks, radios, table lamps, food containers, thermostats, pillows, picture frames, hair dryers, DVD players, etc. Every room can have a nanny cam if needed. Check with your local law enforcement before getting a nanny cam or hidden camera for your home to be sure there are no restrictions.

Surveillance Systems

If you need more than a few hidden cameras, consider a surveillance system. Surveillance systems enable you to observe multiple locations through one sophisticated system. With a channel DVR system, hidden cameras are set up in different areas and interconnected so you can survey all the areas through multiple channels. You can expand your surveillance system as your business or operation grows. There are also portable DVR surveillance systems and those that enable you to monitor the area from any location online.

Monitors

Monitors are screens that show what is going on as it happens. Many public places have monitors set up to let people know they are being recorded. Some monitors are used by the owners or security guards to keep an eye on areas from behind the scenes.

Dummy Cameras

Dummy cameras are not hidden cameras or even real security cameras. They look like real security cameras and give an appearance that the area is being recorded. The thieves won’t know if the camera is real or not. Dummy cameras are often used as a deterrent by many business owners.

Professional Cameras

Professional cameras are often used to survey large businesses or offices, inside or outside. They can be mounted on walls or ceiling brackets. Some are waterproof for outdoor surveillance. A variety of professional cameras are available for different situations.

Hidden cameras and security cameras are great for protecting your children, home, business or property. Use the guide above to find the hidden camera or security camera that’s right for you.

How to Choose the Right Nanny

Choosing a nanny/babysitter is a big deal. Its not like the old days where you could just ask the next door neighbor’s daughter to come by and babysit after school. Things aren’t simple and easy like an 80′s TV sitcom. Now you have to worry about qualifications, capabilities, past history, etc.

First and foremost, you need to decide what characteristics you are looking for in a nanny. Think about education, training, past work experience, demeanor, personality, etc. Also, you need to decide what role she will play – will she be just a caretaker or a tutor, a cook, etc. Then you need to decide what days she should come and how many hours spent. If you work a 9-6 job, make sure she can come in at 8 and leave at 7. You should also make sure she has proper, reliable transportation to and from your home. If this person is going to be spending more time in your home than you will be, make sure you absolutely trust this person.

The first interview should be away from the home and just be the two of you. Make sure you have a list of questions you want to ask. This interview does not have to be too informal, it can occur over lunch. Keep it professional but friendly. If during your first meeting you decide that you like her, schedule a second interview in the home with your children. Pay attention to how she interacts with your children and what kind of demeanor she has. In today’s day and age, you never know what kind of person you are going to get. It might be good to screen nannies via a service or do a background check.

And just as a precaution, it may be a good idea to have some sort of surveillance system so you monitor what is going on in your home while you are at work.

If you have a safe room, or shelter in your home or office for natural disaster or intruders, air quality is a top consideration while you wait for help. Using an air purifier in a safe room gives you more chance of surviving the crisis, whatever the cause. Here are 4 best features to consider when equipping your safe room with an air purifier.

1. Low Noise Level

If your safe room is one that is designed to be used in case of intruders, you want an air purifier that is efficient, but that is whisper quiet. Check the decibel levels of your air purifier to make sure it can run effectively, but quietly enough not to attract attention or give away your location.

2. Low Energy Use

Depending on the crisis, it may take a while for help to reach you. If your room is powered by generator, or battery, choosing an air purifier that is an energy miser is an essential feature to have. This means the purifier is able to operate for longer using less power, giving you maximum time for help to reach you. An air purifier with the Energy Star seal is a good choice.

3. 24 Hour Coverage

Since you never know when disaster might strike, choose an air purifier that can run 24 hours every day. This means your safe room stays ready with fresh clean air so that if you need to use the room the air quality is high when you enter, and stays high for as long as you need it to.

4. Can Filter a Variety of Pollutants

Choose an air purifier that can filter a variety of pollutants from the air-smoke, chemicals, dust, bacteria, viruses; and one that can filter pollutants as small as .1 microns.

Using an air purifier with these 4 features will give you and your family the greatest chance of surviving a crisis in your safe room should the need ever arise. The old adage comes to mind–better safe than sorry.

Your hardworking PC can take on another hat. You can convert it to a small scale surveillance system without breaking the bank. With a starter package that includes DVR security cameras and a corresponding video capture card, your PC becomes a surveillance system. But is it worth all the trouble?

Start A Security System from Your PC

The price of setting up a comprehensive surveillance system is beyond your budget, a valid reason for delaying the installation of a home surveillance system. But if you have a PC, you can have hard working surveillance system. With a few hundred dollars you can install a security system complete with DVR security cameras – all by yourself.

If you already have DVR security cameras, all you’ll need is your PC, a DVR software, and a video capture card. But if you’re starting out with your reliable PC, you’ll need to invest in a starter kit that includes the video capture card, cameras, cables, AC power adapters, and the connection dongle. All these come with a warranty and free lifetime technical support.

Starting a security system using your PC is a practical solution if budget is the issue. Talk this over with your mate and your children so you can finalize your plans about the system and decide where to mount the security cameras. By including all family members in the decision-making, everybody gets involved and learn to value the purpose of the home security system.

Explain though to everyone that the PC in the living room will have to become the official nerve center of the home security scheme. Once you have gotten the popular vote, get a starter kit with two or more cameras. You can upgrade later to 48 more cameras if you relish the idea.

Your PC and the DVR Security Cameras

Whatever you call the cameras, they are there to record people and their activities. From the kitchen you can watch the baby in the nursery and children in the den. You can also view the nanny with your toddler even when you’re in your office cubicle. All these gives you peace of mind and control over your family’s safety.

You PC monitor shows everything that is going on in your home. Your wall or dome mounted cameras capture images once it detects motion and these are instantly sent to the PC’s hard disk drive. You can choose cameras that pans, zooms and tilts, colored cameras or black and white cameras, and night vision cameras.

The system unscrambles the signal to make the images that appear on the computer screen make sense. The speed with which the images travel is so fast you can watch what is going on in real-time. You also have the option playback the files at your convenience. These files are archived according to date and time, which makes it easier for you to search for particular files you want to view.

The Sense of Security

Working couples with young children or teenagers have all the reasons in the world to install a home security system; with today’s rising crime rate anything can happen when you don’t know who is at the door. You and your kids will feel safe knowing they have the advantage of DVR security cameras working as your PC’s spy eyes. Surely this is worth all the trouble.
