Live-in Nanny

Nannies are employed to look after children in the family home either on a live-in or live-out basis, depending on the parent’s needs. Nanny services range from full time live-in or live out, part-time or just for weekends.

Live-in nannies are the most flexible option as they can be called upon for last minute aid. In an emergency, however, they are present in the house and promptly help out. Their training in house keeping is also advantageous. Live-in nannies generally expect their own bedroom and bathroom although they are equally comfortable sharing a bathroom with the children. You should understand that when you have a live-in nanny, your home is their home. You have to work out beforehand how you feel about having friends or partners around.

A live-out or daily nanny often feels more like a business arrangement. The nanny only does the day’s fixed work and leaves. With a live-in, the line is less easy to define, as the nanny is with you all the time and becomes equally responsible for the general house keeping and well being of the family.

The advantages of having a live-in nanny are many; especially if you are working, you can leave your children in safe hands without a worry. Live-in nannies are likely to be the most flexible childcare option of all but also the most expensive. A nanny can offer your child individual concentrated attention and if you find one who stays for a good length of time, they become like an extended member of the family, lending a helping hand, adding to your joys and easing your worries. Your children will be cared for in their own home and receive one-on-one care that is very essential for a healthy development. A nanny is, however, an expensive option and the entire cost including tax, national insurance and increased bills, it may not be that easy on your pocket.

Employer ethics are a major issue of concern in live-in nanny cases. Your children deserve a nanny who loves her work and gives it her best effort. You can make the workplace delightful or miserable, depending on your skills as a decent employer. Your good and considerate treatment of the nanny then becomes a must. The need for building a healthy relationship with your nanny further increases. She must be given some time of the day when she can enjoy privacy or meet her family and friends to rejuvenate.

It’s very easy to monitor your home nowadays with a hidden camera. Not only is it easy, it can be inexpensive – especially for simple monitoring situations, like with nanny cameras. In this article, I will give you some pros and cons to help you evaluate if hidden cameras are the right choice for your home.

Many people who wish to install hidden cameras in the home, do so because they want to monitor activity that is going on at home when they are gone. The plus side is that you do not have to rely on somebody’s word against somebody else’s. If there is a dispute, like say between your nanny and child, then you know what actually went on, because you’ve captured it on video.

What is the legality of hidden cameras in your home? Currently, it is 100% perfectly legal to film the inside of your home, without receiving anybody’s prior consent. However, recording audio is another story, and depends what state you’re in. While the major benefit is that a hidden camera lets you see what goes on when you are there, the major disadvantages that you have to familiarize yourself with are the legal aspects of hidden cameras.

Different hidden cameras are going to be best depending upon your needs. If you’re not looking to blow the bank, and you just need something simple that doesn’t have to be picture-perfect, then you should consider getting a wireless hidden camera.

These things are now designed with pinhole lenses so you can hide them anywhere. Use your imagination as to where you’d like to place these. You can put them on clocks, VCRs, on stereos, one a bookshelf between books, and so forth. These are the easiest to hide in your home.

However, the disadvantage is wireless signals can be intercepted, and there is no legal protection to stop this from happening. This means that somebody can literally tap into your wireless connection to view what your hidden camera’s showing. Not something you’d want a potential burglar doing.

In conclusion, I have written this article to illustrate just some of the pros and cons for you to consider, when it comes to putting a hidden camera in your home. Actually, you have to weigh the peace of mind you get by knowing what is going on behind closed doors when you’re gone, versus some of the problematic situations that may arise from having hidden cameras.
