Nothing shows thoughtful gratitude like a short poem to say thank you. A poem shows that you spent the time to think about the thank you note or card you sent to its recipient. Whether you wrote the verse yourself or picked it out of a book, including the poem means you took the time to either write or find it.

Short poems are better than long poems because they are easier and quicker to read. After all, not everybody reads Paradise Lost for enjoyment (but if you know someone who does – by all means send them a long poem to say thank you! But, only if you want to…).

A short poem is unpresumptuous. You don’t seem like you’re trying to make yourself out to be hoity-toity if you just send a simple short poem. Plus, it helps you keep from offending or confusing anybody, by sending them something they don’t understand.

Of course, you can always write your own short poem to say thank you, as well. It doesn’t have to be complex. It’s better if it’s not.

One way to write a poem is to use a “roses are red, violets are blue…” form. No, you don’t have to use the roses and violets. In fact you probably shouldn’t unless you’re trying to be silly or funny.

But, you can use the rhyme scheme. Here is an example of a short poem to say thank you:

You’re a great friend,
This much is true.
And what you just did,
Makes me want to say, “Thank you!”

It won’t win any prizes, but I think you should get the idea.

Not everybody has the knack, but a lot more people have it than know it. The only way to know is to sit down for a few minutes and try it out and see!

Even if what you write isn’t the best thing since Shakespeare, don’t worry. No one will expect it to be (and you shouldn’t either). The simple fact that you took the time to put the words down will impress and gratify whoever you send it to.

Even if you don’t write a single verse all year, go ahead and write a short poem to say thank you to a good friend or a loved one. Even if it seems a little silly to you, they are bound to love it!

Finding a nanny offers different perspectives to the families. Some may consider this a great opportunity, others would feel flat and neutral while some may handle the task as stressful and laborious. Many people consider hiring a nanny as the assignment of the agency. This may all seem a process but in reality how the parent handles the job is a great revelations to how much would they go for their child.

Emotions When the Need Arises

Employers who interview a nanny must do it like a parent, not an employer. But before this, their emotions or feelings when they knew they were hiring a nanny can tell a lot. Was it good news? It should definitely be a relief or viewed as exciting otherwise the parents are compromising child care, especially if they have the budget for it.

Every Move is Revealing

Do they want background checks nannies or just anyone? Do they prefer agencies or just ask around? Great concern over getting a caring nanny is reflected with how many steps and what they are, to ensure that the child gets the best help. If they want the best, they would be willing to take as many steps for it.

The Criteria for the Nanny Reflects Issues

A parent will most likely have standards in hiring a nanny. Most prefer a caring nanny while others want professionals. Some families rely on whoever the agencies send. Every standard a parent establishes send a message too. Parents who establish many criteria show how important the role of the nanny is while some who have specific criteria take the nanny seriously as part of the household.

To become a nanny may be daunting if all the parents were hard on them. Well, it is after all a paid job. Parents’ jobs are harder, for it is forever, and it comes without money. But real loving parents who has the ideal child care at heart would not feel any burden at all. Finding a nanny is easy and it makes them happy.

People choose a career in teaching for many different reasons, and if you are thinking of getting into teaching, you will have reasons of your Own. You might be a pushover for kids; you might think that a mind is a terrible thing to waste; you might love the academic life; or you just might not have a burning desire to do anything in particular and teaching seems like the easiest way to go.

Every reason for becoming a teacher–with the exception of the last, because you will be in for a rude awakening if you really think teaching is easy–is as worthy as every other, but all of them should be rooted in an unbridled enthusiasm for being allowed to participate in the emotional and intellectual maturing of others.

If you know you have that unbridled enthusiasm, there are some suggestions which will get you started on your way:

1. Just in case your unbridled enthusiasm is more a product of you imagination than your real-world experience, start taking every opportunity you can to work with children. Hire on at a summer camp; be the neighborhood babysitter; be a public pool lifeguard; help with the local Brownie or Campfire Girl troop. Try to spend time with kids of different ages, so you’ll find the group for which you have the best affinity.

2. After you know the age group with which your style is most effective, you’ll have a better idea of whether you should concentrate on elementary or secondary education. To teach any age group through middle school, you would get a degree in elementary education; for high school you should get a degree in the subject which you would most enjoy teaching.

3. Do some research on the teacher certification requirements for the state in which you’ll be teaching. While all states now require that their public school teachers have bachelor’s degrees, not all states have the same teacher certification standards, and some of them will even let you qualify for a teaching credential after you have begun your teaching career.

4. While you are an undergraduate studying for your bachelor’s degree, work as a teacher’s assistant or, if you can swing it, a substitute teacher. There is nothing like classroom experience to give you a very clear understanding of what teaching entails and whether or not it is the career you’ve been imagining it to be. And the experience will look great on your resume.

5. Teaching jobs can, in spite of what you may have heard, be hard to come by, especially in some well-funded school districts. You will find your college’s campus career counseling service invaluable in helping you do job searches for teaching positions and hooking you up with school districts conducting interviews.

What’s Behind a Name?

My cousin boasts five names and I confess that when I was younger that irritated me enormously. Worse than that, my sole middle name is Norman, just as my father’s was before me, and his father before him. It didn’t seem to do them any harm, lugging round such a tag all their lives, though I’d prefer not to have to.

I mean, can you name a famous film star or sportsman named Norman? I can’t. I always wanted to be called Tempest, or Tyrone, or Troy, or even Trigger, but certainly not Norman. There have been famous Norman’s of course. Norman Schwartzkopf, army general, Norman Tebbitt, the British Cabinet Minister, who always appeared in public as if he had a rotting fish adjacent to his nostrils. He was one of Mrs Thatcher’s staunchest sidekicks, until he was blown out of his bed in the Brighton bombing atrocity. Prior to that he was more famous for telling the nation’s unemployed to “get on yer bike” and find work.

Of course William the Conqueror was a Norman, but he wasn’t actually called Norman, he wasn’t Norman the Norman, but he did invade and conquer Britain in 1066 and slay King Harold with an apple in his eye, or was it an arrow? I forget now, for it was so long ago. But either way, the new King Willie, as he was known to the locals, and much worse than that behind his back by the conquered, never once considered changing his name to Norman. No surprise there then.

But back to my cousin. Worse even than the fact he had five names, but that one of them was St. John. Saint John! How could anyone compete with a saint in the family? And oddly his mother would sometimes use that name in public. She would come into the yard and yell, “Come in for your dinner Saint John,” except she didn’t say Saint John, she pronounced it Sinjun, as if to rhyme with Injun, and for some reason that riled me all the more. It’s surprising how riled you can become when you’re eight.

Nowadays of course I’d probably choose to be called Tiger or Tyson. It’s the “T” thing, “T” for Tough. I guess the ideal name would be to be called Tempest, Tyrone, Troy, Tiger, Tyson. How much Testosterone could you handle?

I suppose it could be worse. I could have been christened Hilary, or Leslie, or Vivian, boy’s names all, of a kind. Perhaps Norman isn’t so bad after all, though I’ve successfully kept it under wraps, till now. I even kept it secret from the missus, and for years she was convinced my middle name was Nebuchannezzar, I kid you not. It was only at the critical moment that she discovered I was a Norman, and she almost wet herself on discovering the news, a not untypical reaction. It could have been embarrassing too, with the crowd gathered there.

And then there’s that business of being called Davis Love the Third, or Grover Wilson the Fourth, as if they are mediaeval kings. What is that all that about? Grandma comes in and says, “There’s a package for you Grover.” And four different people step forward and say, “Thanks grandma.” I think not.

So what’s in a name? Does it really matter if we are called Horace or Hector, or River or Raymond, or Butch or Basil? Well of course it does! To boys. You bet it does.

I don’t use my middle name in my byline, you might have noticed that, I still keep it firmly under wraps whenever I can, I sometimes even call myself Nathan, if I’m pushed, and few people know that I am a Norman. It’s a secret, just between you and me, and you won’t tell anyone, will you?

Nannies needed by most families always vary. For every parent, it is standard to create standards for the nanny before hiring. Almost always, the typical criteria include excellent skills, clean background, hard work, professionalism and a good character. These are common and given. What every parent must know though is that, in order to succeed more in hiring a nanny who will last in the job and at home perfectly, there are other important criteria to look for.

Be Compatible With Each Other

If you’re looking for a live in nanny or even just a part time nanny, you must still attain that likability factor. Day to day living will only be satisfying if you work and live with someone you find pleasing. You cannot pay someone to take care of your child when you can’t even stand her sight. It’s hard to pretend you like someone, so just find a nanny you’re naturally comfortable with.

Complementing Skills are the Key

A nanny wanted to cover a nanny position is not a sure deal. It’s similar to the idea of chemistry in couples, not every pair clicks. Like it or not, you are married to your nanny too in a different way that you may undergo a tiring process of divorce just to separate from each other. You may have a chance for that long-lasting partnership if you can complement each other’s skills.

In nanny Jobs, complementing is about the difference from the mommy to the nanny. Don’t get a nanny whom you see yourself in terms of skills. If you’re clumsy, don’t hire a clumsy nanny. If you’re laid back, hire a nanny who is work-focused and hardworking. It’s all about you and the opposite of you that the nanny must possess.

In every pair, the opposite qualities are the ones that make the relationship long lasting. This works for the nanny-mommy tandem too. They must be similar in goals and missions but when it comes to talents, some characters and disposition; it’s the difference that really matters.

A first time mom on a budget has many decisions to make about what baby gear is necessary and what is not. One trip to the nearest Babies R Us is all that it will take to make her dizzy with dollar signs and choices. There are so many items that babies “need”. They make something for just about everything and you truly could spend a fortune if you fall for every proposed baby need. The truth is that there are many items worth paying a pretty penny for and many that you can easily do without and “make do” in a less expensive or free way. The following are categories of items that should not be compromised without or settled upon for the cheapest. They are what mainly effect the safety of the child such as a good car seat and baby-proofing your house. A few other high dollar items should be invested in as sometimes the cheaper items break and it will end up costing more to replace them.

When purchasing a car seat, it is important to read crash test ratings and reviews. Britax is a pricey but top of the line seat when it comes to safety. Firefighters recommend a Britax as they are tested in Europe at higher speeds in crash tests and have true side impact protection. Regardless which brand you choose, make sure it is installed properly and securely as well. Choosing a convertible car seat for your infant that will have room for a child up to 65 pounds will also save money over purchasing an infant seat that will be outgrown in a few months.

A lightweight umbrella stroller is a better investment than one of those giant travel systems that come with infant seats. The infant seat will be soon outgrown and the stroller is so wide and bulky you will not want to put it in the car, travel with it and use it for trips to the mall. Choosing a high quality umbrella stroller is key though. They are not all created equal! One with back support for your child that still executes an umbrella fold is far superior to the flimsy fabric ones that provide no support and that do not recline for stroller naps and diaper changing. The Maclaren Quest is a pricey but excellent option and is worth every extra penny. The strong frame is not flimsy and is super sturdy and the extendable leg rest allows for your baby’s feet to not hang on the ground. The five point harness also ensures safety and security for your little wiggle worm. This stroller will work for your infant as well if you add an infant body support into it such as the JJ Cole Body Support. Cheap umbrella strollers are more prone to breaking with heavy use, so investing in a good one for long term use is worth it.

Do not skimp as well when baby proofing your house. You DO need outlet covers and gates to create safe, baby proof spaces. Even if you cannot ensure perfect safety everywhere, it is a must to create a space that is fully baby proofed that your baby is enclosed into. Put up a baby gate at one room with no TV’s and wires and and that has a rug or carpet. Make this the go-to safe play spot that you feel comfortable walking away from to change your load of laundry etc. If you do not have a safe spot in your house you need to have a play pen (pack and play) to place your child to keep them safe. It only takes an instant for your child to endanger their life. Babies can drown in less than one inch of water including toilets and empty flower pots that have a bit of rain water at the bottom. If you have a pool it is absolutely imperative to have a safety gate. You do not have control of every situation that will arise and if another person where to let your child out of the house it only takes seconds for them to drown.

A breast pump is a divided issue as some women go back to work and pump every day for their child. Others are home and usually just breast feed. So your need for a good quality breast pump will depend on how often you use it. If you plan on pumping every day, multiple times per day you will be more successful in continuing to breast feed by investing in a good electric double-sided pump that makes pumping quick ad easy and will not break. The cheaper single, hand-held pumps take longer and break easier but work fine for the woman who only pumps on the rare occasion that a babysitter will be giving one bottle.

If you are planning on giving flowers or candy on Mother’s Day for a young mother, that is a nice gesture. However, if you really want to make her day, get her what she really, really wants…a babysitter.

Although we young mothers love our little ones, there is nothing that would make Mother’s Day more special than an offer of time away. This could be time to go on a date with her husband or even a day of shopping with no kids. If you offer to babysit for her, she will be elated.

If you can’t babysit for her or if you are the husband of this young mother, taking the initiative and finding a great babysitter will make any young mother happier than anything else you could spend your money on.

Looking for a Nanny?

If you are a working dad or mom, you might have been confronted by the dilemma about just what sort of childcare you desire for your young kids. In the event the kids are not yet going to school full-time, this could be tough. There are many choices out there including the choice of daycare or going the nannies for hire path. Depending on your needs, in-home child care could be a terrific opportunity for you and the youngster simply because they may genuinely have some good one-on-one attention that can help them shine and give you reassurance that they’re getting well looked after.

You might have used babysitters at one point or another. Employing a childcare professional isn’t a lot different, except for many nannies look at their jobs on an expert degree where individuals who do per hour baby sitting work are probably only in it in order to gain some fast income.

When you happen to be a single parent or perhaps your residence is especially active, you may need to look at the option of employing a live-in childcare professional. This, of course, assumes that you have sufficient accommodations for the individual and are prepared to choose this fairly significant determination as it could require a few modifications.

If you are thinking of getting live-in help, you might also consider looking at one of the widely accepted au pair companies. An au pair is typically a childcare provider coming from another nation who’s going to be trying to find a cultural experience with a family. You ought to be extremely assured concerning your outlook in the event you select this selection as the au pair might be less knowledgeable in comparison to the competent nanny that you’d locate via a nearby nanny agency.

Finding the optimum care for your young ones is often daunting plus its an action that should not really be taken flippantly. Be sure you do the suitable verification and criminal record check with any prospect you are considering choosing and most of all trust in your own gut intuition throughout the interview process.

Most children are ready to start using a ‘toddler’ seat at about six months of age, until they transition into a ‘booster’ seat at approximately 2 years of age. Toddler seats are forward facing, and typically use a combination of the car’s seat belts or a special anchoring system, and a separate harness, to secure the seat and the child. Many toddler seats allow the child to ride in either an upright or a reclined position, and some models raise the child up sufficiently to be able to easily see out of the vehicle’s windows while in the upright position. Child car seat manufacturers are bound by very strict guidelines, and you may be surprised to find that some of the more expensive car seats don’t provide any better level of protection than those which are more moderately priced.

Toddler seats come in three basic varieties: (1) those that can be used only as a toddler seat, (2) those that can be used both as an infant and a toddler seat, and (3) those that can be used both as a toddler and a booster seat. Seats that are designed to be used in two different modes are called ‘convertible’seats.

Convertible infant/toddler seats can be used for children from infancy (with the seat in the rear facing position), into their toddler years (with the seat turned around and used in the forward facing position), until they are ready for a booster seat. In the rear facing mode, these types of seats can typically be used with a child up to about 25 lbs, and then used in the forward facing position until the child reaches about 40 lbs. These types of seats have a larger seat than an infant only seat, and many come with padded inserts for use when the child is still small.

Convertible toddler/booster seats are forward facing, and typically use both the car’s seat belts and a separate harness during the ‘toddler’ stage, and just the car’s seat belts during the ‘booster’ stage.

We all have busy lives and have to get back to work after the maternity leave is over. Maternity leave does not last long and you need to report back soon. However your major concern is to give your kid the best care possible. Safety of the little toddler seems to be the prime reason for many parents. Getting a nanny is the first and the best personal care any one can get right at home. Placing your baby in a day care center is taking him into a new environment and he might not be comfortable being there. Many parents in the neighbourhood prefer a nanny as she will take care of the kid in the surroundings he is born in.

Hiring a nanny is just one hurdle getting a nanny cam should be the second important asset for your home and safety. For having peace of mind that your kid is safe under the supervision of a nanny you need an instrument which could help monitor the actions even in your absence. Having to juggle work and home is not easy for a mom and you have to ensure that you take steps in that direction for ensuring better safety. A hidden camera phone is ideal for such scenarios where you can monitor every move of the nanny.

By the first look it is just like any other standard phone allowing it to work secretly and catches unguarded actions with ease. A hidden camera in it which can help me to record, supervise and then capture all the actions of the nanny or potential thief. A tiny but very effective and technologically advanced miniature spy camera is attached in the phone which has a transmission 300feet connecting the camera and the receiver very easily which also means that you could have the benefit of watching the clear and constant video recordings. Ordering it online is as easy as it can get and you can install it in no time and is not difficult.

Being a person who has firsthand experience with many spy gadgets such as spy pen, key logger, nanny camera, spy camera want to share my expertise with novice users. Today the families can afford them easily and they fit well in your needs and budget. Easy to install and comfortable to use are two features which are making the spy cameras a household name.
