Every year spent with your significant other is another year to cherish. As you reach a milestone anniversary, you may feel compelled to do something a bit special to celebrate your life together. Not sure how to celebrate? Consider planning a romantic anniversary outing you’ll both remember for years to come.

Choose a Destination

Start by choosing your ultimate destination for the evening. Is there a special rock concert in town? Is there a show you’ve always wanted to see together? You don’t need to limit yourself to your local vicinity, especially if you have a “big city” within an hour or two of your home town. Don’t be afraid to travel to a show, concert, or sporting event – just make sure you’re doing something you’ll both love.

Plan Dinner in Advance

Make reservations for your anniversary dinner as far in advance as you can. You’ll want to time your dinner reservation for either before or after the main event of the evening. If you plan on dining before your dinner, you’ll want to make sure you give yourself enough time to enjoy a relaxing meal without feeling as though you have to rush to get to the theater or arena on time.

Book a Hotel Room

Sometimes simply getting away from home (and the kids) can be an incredible experience. If you are traveling to enjoy your anniversary outing you may want to consider booking a hotel room so that you don’t have to travel home late at night. Staying in a hotel can be incredibly romantic and will give you some extra time to spend with your loved one while you both feel pampered. While you may want to choose a simple hotel room, you should also look into special packages at hotels that offer honeymoon suites or anniversary packages. You may be surprised with a bottle of champagne or a room upgrade.

Find a Limo Service

Want to have a special evening without worrying about a designated driver? Hiring a corporate limousine service to take you to your dinner, event, hotel, or home is a great way to ensure you can both kick back, relax, and enjoy your time together. Driving can be incredibly stressful – especially if you are visiting an area you aren’t used to. Limousine services in Delaware can be incredibly affordable, so you should at least compare prices before ruling out this part of your anniversary surprise. Let someone else take the wheel while you enjoy the company of your significant other.

Hire a Babysitter

Do you have children who aren’t old enough to be left alone at home? Do you have pets who simply can’t be left overnight? Make sure you remember to book a baby sitter, pet sitter (or both) well in advance. You may even want to make sure you have a backup plan in case the person you choose falls ill or simply backs out. There’s nothing worse than having a spectacular anniversary planned only to find you have no one to care for the kids.

Take some time to think about romantic destinations or events you’ve never had the chance to experience together. Plan the outing together, or plan it as a surprise – the choice is up to you. Just make sure you have the time of your life!

There are lots great reasons to use a background check. If you’re involved in any hiring decision, even a basic one like hiring a babysitter or real estate agent, the background checks are practically a must. You might also want to consider using a background check to learn more about people you’ve met online or in public places. In fact, background checks are a great way to learn about lots of people in your life. After all, no one wants to learn about a person’s criminal record only after it has already become a liability. If you want to protect yourself and your family, one great way to search is by using online background check websites.

The internet is the best place to search for background check resources, and easy one stop resources make finding the information you need simple and easy. To use a background check website, all you have to do is enter the name of the person you’re researching. In most cases, the background check website can then help you access criminal records and other useful data, in one simple step. You won’t have to waste your time on other search methods, because you’ll already have the answers you need.

And best of all, you won’t have to wait around for results as you might with other background check options. Instead, you can find out almost instantly. That’s because background check websites search millions of different criminal records to help you locate exactly what you need to know without having to check multiple places. That means that frequently, the speed of an online background check site is often only limited by the speed of your internet connection.

So if you want to find criminal background checks online, now you know where to start your search. Once you’ve found out the info you needed, you can rest worry free knowing that the individuals in your life aren’t hiding criminal records.

Summertime is a very exciting time for kids. With school being out and the weather at it’s warmest, kids are itching to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. Unfortunately – Mother Nature doesn’t always cooperate, so not everyday is all blue skies. When you end up with the kids stuck inside on a rainy summer day – pulling out a fun, hands-on craft project for them to complete is a great idea. With these simple craft projects, you can keep kids busy for the afternoon even if they are stuck indoors.

Keeping craft projects simple can be extremely helpful to both you and the kids. Kids love to decorate and personalize their own items, and any craft store can supply you with tons of blank, customizable items. Since our project is summer themed – choosing a plain white visor or baseball hat (available for a very low cost at any craft store) and purchasing fabric markers, glitter glue, and even small gemstones will give kids the opportunity to create their own custom headgear to wear out on the next sunny day. Craft stores often have big seasonal sales, so when it’s nearing the end of a season, you can usually stock up on supplies like these to have in the house in case a rainy day comes along. Things like fabric markers and glitter glue can work for a number of different projects, so having them in the house already can save you a trip to the store in the future.

If you have a little bit of time on your hands as a parent, a fun activity that you can do for the kids is to create a scavenger hunt in the house. Giving them an incentive to complete the hunt is also a great idea. For example, give them a list of summery things to find in the house (i.e. a flip flop, a bikini top, suntan lotion, a beach towel with blue in it, etc…) and when they bring all of the items back to you, they’ll get lunch or an afternoon snack. If you have younger kids, making the list short and sweet will help them from getting too frustrated with the project, but if kids are older – making the list longer and more specific will help them to the take on the challenge. Giving kids a pillowcase to take along on their search will help them from losing anything during the hunt. Keeping the scavenger hunt summer themed will let kids enjoy the season even when they can’t play outside.

On the contrary, if you do have a nice day on your hands and you’re still looking to keep the kids entertained, both of these projects can be taken outdoors. Setting kids up at an outdoor table to create their hats will allow them to immediately wear the finished product whenever they’re done. You can easily transform the scavenger hunt to cater to both indoors and outdoors by adding items to the list like “a pink flower” and “a sandbox toy”. Keeping in mind all of the items in and around your home will ensure that the kids will be able to find everything that’s on the list.

So whether your kids are young or old, they will enjoy partaking in a fun, creative, hands-on project for the afternoon. Giving these ideas to a babysitter is also a great idea since keeping kids busy while you’re out of the house is important, too. Take a look around your house and see what type of craft supplies you already have. By adding items to the mix that are already in your craft storage bin, you can spice up these projects even more. By allowing your kids to have some fun and be creative – they’ll enjoy themselves even if their perfect summer day is compromised by the rain.

Once you have decided to place your toddler in a daycare, finding the right one could be very tasking on the parents. Apart from the cost and location of the daycare you must also make sure that the environment is safe and not a hazardous environment for your child or other children.

The childcare environment should be an area that will not only stimulate the intellectual, physical and emotional development of the child, but also promote good health and safety. Make sure that the environment has plenty of age appropriate toys for the kids to play with it and that the toys are in good condition.

As you are being taken on a tour of the premises, you can either make a mental note or have a have a notebook with you and check off things you are satisfied with or write down questions to raise later.

Pay particular attention to the following:

- Are there pets in the house? And if yes have they gotten all their shots.
- Take a look at the sleeping area for the kids. Is it clean and in a safe area?
- Are the kids playing area clean and odor free?
- Do they have a safety closet where they lock away cleaning chemicals out of children reach?
- Is there security? Can people just work into or out of the building without passing through security?
- What is the student to teacher ratio? Are there enough teachers to keep a critical eye on the students?
- What is the turnover rate of the care providers? Care providers stay longer where they are happy and this translates to how well the kids are treated.

These are some of the questions that you should keep in mind and you should not hesitate to ask questions about anything that concerns you.

Does your diaper bag have everything you need in it? Of course, you have the basic items: diapers, wipes, bottles, etc. But are you equipped for any “baby situation” that could possibly arise? It may seem like a lot of gear, but if you bring along the following baby paraphernalia when you head out, you’ll be ready for just about anything.

1. Diapers-

Bring more than you think you’ll need. Even if your baby’s body works like clockwork, today could be the day when everything changes. Extra supplies also come in handy if your outing keeps you out longer than you had planned.

2. Baby Wipes-

Same goes for the wipes. They’re also great for cleaning spit-up off of little hands, folds of the neck and yourself.

3. Change of Clothes For Baby-

Make sure this is a complete change of clothes, including extra socks if the outfit requires. There is no such thing as a leak-proof diaper. Sometimes the mess can travel further than you can imagine.

4. Spare Shirt For Yourself-

There aren’t many moments more uncomfortable than walking around wearing your baby’s lunch or reeking of sour baby odors.

5. 2-Quart Sized Resealable Plastic Bags-

These are perfect for storing soiled clothing until you get home.

6. Extra Food-

Pack one more feeding than you think you’ll need. If today is the day your baby decides to increase his or her food intake, or, once again, if you are out longer than you planned, you’ll want to be prepared with enough food.

7. Plastic Changing Pad-

You’ll always have a clean place to lay your baby for diaper and clothing changes if you bring this along. Many times, these come with the diaper bag.

8. Blanket or Jacket-

If the weather becomes cooler while you’re out and you’re not prepared, you may be heading home sooner than you’d like. Also, some malls and grocery stores maintain cooler temperatures than you may have dressed your baby for.

9. Extra Pacifier-

Store one in a plastic sandwich bag. If one drops on the floor or mysteriously disappears, as pacifiers are wont to do, it’ll be no big deal.

10. Pediatrician’s Phone Number-

Hopefully, you’ll never need to call your baby’s doctor while you’re away from home. But if you do, you’ll be glad you have it.

How To Check Court Records

When you are hiring someone in your company or even just to work for you as a babysitter it may be a good idea to perform a court record check. This way you can find out if the person has been in trouble with the law before. This is very easy to do and will make you feel confident that you are dealing with a trustworthy person.

Court records are basically where the courts keep every piece of information related to court proceedings. Everything that happens after someone is arrested is stored in these records. You can basically find everything about what happened during the case: why the arrest was made, names of everyone involved and much more.

Accessing these records is quite easy thanks to modern technology. You can go to sites like Choice Point or the site of the actual court itself. The downside to looking online is that you will usually have to pay to access the records. You can also visit the court and search through its records, This is obviously a lot more work but it is free.

The easy access to court records offered by the internet has met with some criticism. Some people think it violates privacy. However most courts argue that since they are part of the public record making them available online does not make a difference.

Checking court records is an easy way to gain peace of mind. Thanks to the internet this has become very easy. With a few mouse clicks you can find out if a person is worthy of your trust or not.

When was the last time you went on a date with your spouse, or spent a weekend with the family? Are your weekends spent mowing the lawn, doing laundry, cleaning the house and writing the bills? Have you been wondering if a home based business is the way to go?

I use to be a single mom which was even harder than being married because I had to clean the house and mow the lawn while my three year old was stuck in front of the TV. Leaving for work at the ***** of dawn, I wouldn’t get home till about 6pm . By the end of the evening after cooking, cleaning, and bathing my daughter I would have about 30 minutes a night with her.

I knew there had to be a better way, so I tried just about everything that one could do to make money with a home based business. Ran a home day care, and became a Real Estate Agent. Which eventually brought me to online marketing. $25,000 later I found a program that I can rake in the big money and work around my children’s schedule whenever I want. A Home Base Business is something that could be started part time or full time. And the best thing is I can be there to pick up my children from school and not have a babysitter or daycare to raise them.

There is nothing better than a home based business for raising a family. Best of all, it can be started while still working a full time job. In the beginning this may take an hour a day of your time, but eventually it will be worth it to be able to work at home and spend more time with family.

Youth Sports Recreation

Being a parent, you are going to want to know everything that you can when it comes to youth sports recreation and your child. When your son or daughter comes home and says that they would like to join the football team or perhaps the cheerleading squad at first you may be proud of them. But, once the excitement wears off your next thought is going to be the danger that they will be put in every time they are out on the field. You cannot help but worry about the issues that come along with their choices.

Of course when they decide to participate in something that involved exercise you are going to be thrilled at the fact they do not want to spend their time playing video games and becoming a couch potato. You know that being involved in youth sports recreation means that they are going to have the opportunity to make new friends as well as stay in shape and healthy at the same time. Although there are downsides to choices we may make there are also pluses at the same time. It is always a great idea to encourage your child to get involved in activities.

There are many different choices that they can choose from and naturally their age is going to play a big role in the choices that they have. Perhaps they would want to join a pee-wee league or maybe they just want to play with their friends. Either way, youth sports recreation is a wonderful way for them to be able to get out of the house, enjoy the fresh air and avoid the television as a babysitter. Yes it may keep you a little busy but you are going to enjoy watching your child run around and have fun.

There is nothing like seeing your child run around and get the much needed exercise that they should have to keep them from becoming overweight and have future health issues. Once they start to participate in youth recreation sports you may find that they will become more active and stay that way once they get older. It can lead to many great things for them in the future without them even realizing that it is helping them in the decisions that they are going to be making as they get older. It will even affect them as parents.

With all of the different sports that there are to choose from to participate in, you will find that not all of them require contact. This means that you as a parent will not have to worry as much about injuries when they get involved in youth sports recreation. It may turn out that it is just something that is fun for them and then fizzle out as they get older. It could also turn into something that will stick with them for a lifetime. Either way, let them enjoy their time and you should enjoy it with them as well while you can.

How to Find a Sitter for Your Dog

Whether your dog is old or a just a puppy, there will come a time when you have to out of town for business or a vacation where dogs aren’t allowed. Therefore, you will need to leave your prized pet in the care of a pet sitter. Where can you find a pet sitter? What types of pet sitter services are available? How much will it cost to hire a pet sitter? These are some of the many questions that you need to answer before you hire a pet sitter.

You have two main options of where to leave your pet when you are away. You can take them to a boarding kennel or you can hire a pet sitter. By hiring a pet sitter it means that your dog will stay at your home and a pet sitter will visit your home several times per day to take care of your dog. The following questions and answers are geared toward those pet owners that decide to hire a pet sitter to take care of their dog.

Question #1: Where do I find a pet sitter? You can find a pet sitter through a number of means. Consult your veterinarian, groomer, and breeder for recommendations. Often times they know of a reliable pet sitter in your area or they can point you in the direction of pet sitter services. You can also check with your friends and family to see if they can refer you to a pet sitter. Word of mouth referral is a common way to find a pet sitter.

You can also take a trip to your local pet store or a chain pet store such as PETCO. Many pet sitters advertise their services at these places so you can find their contact information. The pet store owners and staff may know of a great pet sitter as well.

Another option is to call Pet Sitters International at (800) 268-SITS or check out their website at http://www.petsit.com/. Pet Sitters International is the world’s largest organization of pet sitters. Pet Sitters International is highly respected organization. They offer a multitude of services including finding a pet sitter based on your zip and giving advice on how to prepare your home for the pet sitter.

Also spend time researching information about the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters by calling them at (800) 296-PETS. You can peruse their website at http://www.petsitters.org. Not only can you find a pet sitter based on your zip code, but you can find a “certified” pet sitter. They offer a certification program that ensures a pet sitter is knowledgeable about business management, animal care, and animal health issues. This type of certification can be a comfort in the event that your dog has a health problem.

Question #2: What type of tasks does a pet sitter do for you and your pet? A pet sitter is there to provide comfort, help, and care for your dog while you are away. They will visit your home on a daily basis to feed your dog, take them for walks, and let them out to go the bathroom. They can help your dog with any health ailments or continuing care such as medicines while you are away.

A pet sitter needs to be informed if your dog has any special needs. For example, your dog may be elderly and blind or deaf. Your pet sitter must know this so they can properly help your dog. Or your dog may be just a puppy and require more exercise then most dogs. Let your pet sitter know and they can increase the frequency of visits each day. The pet sitter should be able to work with your needs.

Your pet sitter will also take the responsibility of taking your dog to the vet if an accident occurs or the need arises. You need to let your pet sitter know how you want them to handle these types of situations and how to contact you in the event that this happens.

Question #3: How do I find the “best” pet sitter for my dog? Only you can determine the best pet sitter for your dog. Follow the same procedures you would as if you were hiring a babysitter for your children. Check out their references, interview them, and inquire about past work history. How do they interact with your dog? Speak to former or current clients to determine if they are right for you.

Also make sure the pet sitter has been certified and/or bonded and insured. Your dog’s life is priceless so you definitely want a serious professional pet sitter to take care of your pooch.

Question #4: How much does a pet sitter cost? The cost of a pet sitter varies based on their experience, your location, the number of dogs you are leaving, and the level of care you need for the dogs. Some pet sitters charge on a per visit basis while others can work with you to determine a reasonable price. Make sure to have their scope of services and fees in writing. This will safeguard you against any miscommunication.

Question #5: How should I prepare my home and dog for the pet sitter? First of all, your dog needs to meet and get to know the pet sitter before you leave town. Have the pet sitter visit a few times until your dog is comfortable with their presence. You don’t want to leave and suddenly have a new person show up to take care of your dog. Your dog may confuse the pet sitter for an unwanted stranger.

Provide emergency numbers of your veterinarian and also a number at which they can reach you. You want to make yourself available by phone in case an emergency pops up. Make sure your home is clean and the dog food bowls are clean. Speak with your pet sitter about feeding, walking and other pet care procedures first, but also leave all the directions in writing. Verify that this is plenty of dog food for the length of time you will be gone.

If you following these tips you will find the best pet sitter for your dog and have a comfortable time on your trip knowing your dog is in good hands.

The average American child spends 26 hours a week in front of the television, and children are starting to watch TV earlier in life than in the past. Television is often used as a “babysitter,” or children are allowed to have a TV set in their bedrooms, thus parents loose control over what and how much television is watched, and don’t spend time enough family time with their children.

Common sense tells us too much of TV time is not healthy, and research supports those instinct. There is evidence that watching television is associated with increased snacking on junk food, thus promoting increased caloric intake. Sedentary television watching coupled with increased caloric intake promotes obesity, thus low self-esteem, and other health problems associated with excessive weight. Some problems are immediate, some emerge in adulthood. Studies show that TV violence promotes real-life aggression in children, and may even lead to the development of ADHD, and increase risk-taking behaviors in teenagers.

What can parents do to prevent these harmful effects of TV? It’s simple. Turn off the TV and encourage play! The first two years of your child’s life represents a critical window for neurological development. Children should not be allowed to watch TV at all during that time. Instead, they should play with age appropriate toys that will help them develop manual dexterity and imagination.

After 2 years of age, children should watch no more than 1-2 hours of TV (that includes computer time too!). The American Academy of Pediatrics states that consistent TV watching of more than 1-2 hours a day can cause sleep behavior and attention problems, thus the experts recommend putting a limit of on children’s TV viewing time.

Studies show that it is easier to decrease sedentary behaviors than it is to increase physical activity. Once parents put a limit on TV/computer time, children will be more active. However, parents need to be a little more proactive to increase their children’s physical activity by scheduling playtime involving physical exertion.

A child should never have a television set in his or her bedroom, as it promotes watching too much TV and separates the child from the family. In addition, when a child has a TV set in his or her room, parents lose control of what and how much TV their child watches. Television should be used as an educational tool for older children. Parents should select the programs they would like their children to watch, watch them together as a family, and use them as a starting point for discussions. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends the following to help your child develop positive viewing habits:

1. Set limits. Limit your children’s use of TV, movies, and video and computer games to no more than 1 or 2 hours per day. Do not let your children watch TV while doing homework. Do not put a TV in your child’s bedroom.

2. Plan what to watch. Instead of flipping through channels, use a program guide and the TV ratings to help you and your children choose which shows to watch. Turn the TV on to watch the program and turn it off when it is over. Or use a DVR like TiVo to record only the shows your child is allowed to watch. You can skip through the commercials, too!

3. Watch TV with your children. Whenever possible, watch TV with your children and talk about what they see. If your children are very young, they may not be able to tell the difference between a show, a commercial, a cartoon, or real life. Be especially careful of “reality-based” programs. Most of these shows are not appropriate for children.

4. Find the right message. Some TV programs show people as stereotypes. If you see this, talk with your children about the real-life roles of women, the elderly, and people of other races.

5. Help your children resist commercials. When your children ask for things they see on TV, explain that the purpose of commercials is to make people want things they may not need.

6. Look for quality children’s videos and DVDs. There are many quality videos and DVDs available for children. Check reviews before buying or renting programs or movies.

7. Give other options. Watching TV can become a habit for your children. Help them find other things to do like playing, reading, learning a hobby, a sport, an instrument, or an art, or spending time with family, friends, or neighbors.

8. Set a good example. As a role model, limiting your own TV viewing and choosing programs carefully will help your children do the same.

9. Express your views. When you like or do not like something you see on TV, make yourself heard. Stations, networks, and sponsors pay attention to letters from the public. If you think a commercial is misleading or inappropriately targeting children, write down the product name, channel, and time you saw the commercial and describe your concerns.
