I don’t know is this is wrong or not. I moved 2 hours away from my hometown and have been unemployed for the 9 months I got here so I’ve depleted my savings. I finally found a job that I can handle that pays amazing but it seriously cuts into my time with my daughter. I miss her incredibly when I don’t have her. Her father and I alternate weeks we take care of her. He lives in my hometown 2 hours away. So I get one full week (sun-sun) Since I’ve started this job I work 930-7 5 days a week and shes at a babysitter from those times. It breaks my heart to leave her crying (the babysitter is amazing and she calms down eventually but still… ) then I have to give her up for a week. Does this guilty feeling stick around? Should I search for a new job? I know this is common and want to hear other stories if you have them.. (by the way she is 16 months)

Searching for a new babysitter?

B’sMomma asked:

My babysitter told me yesterday that when their youngest starts preschool on Sept 8th they’re going to quit babysitting. I understand, and I saw it coming. Why should they stay home with other kids when all of theirs are now in school. But I was still so sad about it. I almost cried when she told me. My son LOVES them! And they’ve always treated him like one of their own. She’s my best friend so I never once worried about leaving my son with her.

So now I need some help choosing a new sitter…
What should I look for?
What kind of questions do I need to ask?
My son will be 3 in October. He goes to the babysitter’s house, and I’d prefer to keep it that way so he has other kids to interact with.
Relatives aren’t an option. They all either work or are unable to keep up with a toddler.

Some of you will probably think that I’m a bad mom, but I would like a little time to myself every once in a while. I never thought that I would want to be apart from my son, but right now with all the screaming and teething it doesn’t sound too bad. I don’t have family near me that can watch him and no neighbors that can. He’s too young for the mom’s day out programs in our area.

I work 2 nights a week when my husband watches him. The other time my husband is working and it’s like I’m a stay at home mom. I just want maybe an hour or two to myself a week. I feel so worn out. Noone has ever watched my son except he has been to the nursery at church and the nursery at the ymca.

I want someone I can trust. It scares me to have soomeone watch him that I don’t know, but I don’t see any other choice at this point.

brevejunkie asked:

How can I find a good babysitter in my area? We live in a large apartment complex, and I know there are no teenage/young adults in our building. I don’t think I really want to go door to door banging and asking if they babysit, lol. What can I do? I don’t want to post an ad on our local bulletin board, possibly attracting every freak out there. Is there an agency (similar to a nanny service) where you can hire sitters for an evening? Any other options?

I want to ask these parents I have known for 2 years if I could baby-sit their kid. I would say, I would love to baby-sit for you if you ever need time to go out or shopping. Then I would give them my phone number if they said yes. I hope that they do call me b/c the parents told me that he talks about me all the time at my daycare. Do you think that they would call me instead of another babysitter? I know that you don’t know but if this little boy talks about me then I would think that I would be chosen over another babysitter. What do you think? :)
I’m almost 21 years old (to answer your question)

My husband and I would like to go out more. Our parents live far away and so do our siblings. Most of our friends are out of state. How do you go about finding a responsible / reliable babysitter to take care of your child. I dont have too many people I can ask and I don’t want to trust some John or Jane Doe with my 2 year old child. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
