My daughter is now 6 months old and I haven’t had a break since day 1. I love her, but I just need a few hours away. She has a colostomy, and has to be catheterized every 6 hours. Everyone offers to babysit but none of them know how to do these things. I’ve taught my mom but she’s going to be moving away soon, and I don’t trust but a few ppl with my baby. Most ppl want to keep her so they can see what she looks like down there(she has no butthole and no vaginal opening and pees out of the end of her clit). It makes me feel like they think she’s an experiment. She’s my daughter for goodness sakes! I would leave her with my husband but I’m uncomfortable with that. He wouldn’t do her catheter and stuff if it needed to be done. Am I being over protective? Any advice on finding a trusting babysitter? please help. only serious answers

Moms how do you pick your babysitters? I usually just have my 15 year old babysit the girls (2 and 1) but she will be with me and if she cant do it, their Nana and Papa will do it, but they are out of town.

Another kids babysitter picks on my son at the bus stop suggestions?
Author: adminJul 30
My son is nine years old in 3rd grade. In the mornings another lady escorts a kindergartner she babysits to the bus stop. One day my son walked in front of this boy – did not push or shove him or anything just being careless walked in front of him and this woman pulled him by the back of his shirt and raised her voice to him.
After that my partner walked my son to the bus stop every day and this woman avoided him like the plague and she never got near my son again. Today my sons grandma took him to the bus instead of us and this woman raised her voice to my son and told him she would pull on his shirt again if he cut in line.
I am going up there tomorrow to deal with her myself. I don’t want to create a scene in front of the kids but this woman needs to know that she is NOT allowed to put her hands on or bully other people’s children in the morning. I do not know her name or the little boys parents she babysits for. Any suggestions on how to handle it?
The angry part of me wants to snap on her but the rational part of me that wants to be a good influence says to talk to her calmly and civilized – of course any grown woman who threatens 3rd graders is probably not very civilized to begin with…
What’s the best way to proceed?
.. and I am not saying that people should not correct children. if she had simply said to my son Please do not cut in line that’s not how 3rd graders behave… I would have no problem with that. Raising your voice and threatening a 9 year old is not discipline – it’s ignorance plain and simple. I’m all for neighbors coming together to help kids and make them behave at the bus stop – but there are lines.

As a parent, what do you look for in a nanny?
Author: adminJul 30
I am thinking about becoming a nanny. I don’t have any children of my own, but I have been a teacher in the past. I have an idea of what I would expect from a nanny, and I know that all parents are different, but I would like to hear from some parents what they are looking for specifically when choosing a nanny.
how do you explain to a 6 year old that he cannot go to a friend’s house?
Author: adminJul 30
my son has been invited to visit a schoolmates house afterschool. both my husband and i work full-time and would not be able to take him to his friends’ house – his babysitter picks him up afterschool. The schoolmates’ mom has called me to try to let my son visit, but i do not know her other than just knowing she’s the schoolmates mom. isn’t 6 years old a little too early to be dropping off kids at unknown friend’s houses? and, most importantly, what is the most tactful way to explain this to a 6 year old.
