Find a Babysitter – What to Do

It is true that finding a good sitter is tough these days. And to find babysitter becomes even harder if you’re a new parent or you just don’t know much about babysitting. If you are in need of a babysitter but are not sure of what to do, here is some information that might help you.

Assuming that you don’t know much about how to find babysitter, the most suitable method of hiring a sitter in your situation would be finding trustworthy babysitters through online babysitter services. There are a couple other options but let’s stick to what’s best in your situation. But for the purpose of argument, let’s talk about the conventional method in finding a babysitter first.

The good thing about conventional babysitter-hiring is that you can monitor the hiring process first-hand. This way you can make sure you have the right sitter by doing your own screening process. However, this method is best suited for those who already know a lot about babysitting since there will be much work needed to do.
Moreover, this method is cumbersome and can be worse with lack of knowledge.

In contrast to the conventional process, to find babysitter with the help of online babysitter websites is fast and convenient. You only need to be connected to the web to do this so you can do it anywhere and anytime. However, you must also be cautious in picking an online babysitter website because there are some scam sites as well as poor quality sites. Some questions you should check on before enlisting the service of a particular site include: How long have they been around? What do their previous customers say about them? Are they reputable? What are their terms of service? How much do they charge? These questions and a couple more others will surely help you get quality service and avoid being scammed. These will also help you find babysitter that fits your family needs.

If you are a new parent, or are going to become a parent soon, chances are you will eventually have to look for a babysitter to care for your child while you are at work. The decision to bring someone into your home to care for your child may be a difficult one, not only in the process of searching for a nanny, but then to have the confidence that they will provide the type of care for your child that you would.

When my wife and I hired our first nanny, like many parents do, we talked to our friends and neighbors looking for references. We finally decided on a local babysitter that came highly recommended from the couple next door, but we still wanted some additional peace of mind. That’s when I first started looking for nanny cameras for home.

Like most people, my first place to start looking for nanny cameras was by going to Google and simply typing in “nanny cameras for home”. This gave me hundreds of thousands of results, so I had a lot of reading to do. After doing some research, I discovered that there are three kinds of nanny cameras for home:

Self-Recording Cameras that record to SD Card or Memory Card Wireless mini cameras that stream video to your VCR or digital video recorder Internet Remote-View Cameras that let you stream video over the internet

Each type of nanny camera has pros and cons to take into consideration. Price is the first factor – they can range from a couple hundred to several hundred dollars, depending on quality. The quality of camera is also a factor – you can get cameras from webcam quality all the way up to full HD quality.

The easiest to use hidden camera to monitor your babysitter is a self-recording camera that records internally. This type of camera is pretty much plug and play, and allows you to record video to an SD card, and then view it on your computer. The wireless camera takes a little more setup, but is convenient when you want to stream your video to a separate recording device.

My personal favorite, and the type of nanny camera that we ended up purchasing was an internet remote-view nanny cam. This camera allows us to view what’s going on at our home when we aren’t there. Not only can I view it on my computer at work, but I can also view it on my Blackberry, and my wife can view the video feed live on her iPhone too. Best of all, our nanny camera is built into an ordinary looking clock that sits on our mantle, so no one will ever suspect that it’s actually a hidden camera.

After two months of having our nanny camera in operation at our home, we’ve been lucky that our camera hasn’t caught any bad behavior that you might have seen sometimes on the news. We’ve simply captured our nanny taking good care of our child, and that peace of mind is invaluable. So if you are looking at nanny cameras for home, rest assured that the decision will be one that allows you to rest easy at night.
