It’s really hard to know when you are being scammed online because many scammers are able to fake their websites well enough that the red flags never go up.

You are right to be worried about trusting a website with finding a child care provider/babysitter for your family. However, not all babysitting services websites are scams, thieves and scum. For every fraudulent website online there is also a reputable one.

There are many babysitting services websites that are highly recommended, reputable and trustworthy. Of course, to find them you will need to weed through the less than reputable websites and do a bit of research and digging into the various companies. Don’t become discouraged, spotting the frauds can be easy if you know what to look for and where to look.

Start off by using your search engine to find online babysitting services. From here, look over the website and see if it seems to be reputable. If you have read the articles and such that are posted on the site you should be able to notice inconsistencies.

For example, in testimonials you should notice they are in different tones and the overall feel of ach review should be different. Just like it would be different if you and your neighbor wrote a review on the same set of glasses. Two different people, two completely different reviews. Watch for spelling mishaps. Is the same word frequently misspelled on different reviews from different people?

If you notice these red flags popping up all over the place on the same website it is time for you to go to the next step. Type on over to the Better Business Bureau’s website and search the website’s name in the database. Are their any pending claims or claims that have not been satisfied?

Finally, search the actual business name with the word “complaints” and see what your search engine has to say. If all of the above mentioned tips reveal no hidden secrets of the website, it is more likely than not, that you have found a website that is reputable and reliable.

These steps might consume a little of your time, but when you really consider the money, aggravation and safety of your child or children they are well worth the time you need to invest. Some babysitting services websites are legitimate and can help you find a babysitter that you can build a long term respectable relationship with.

By: Sheila Huggins

It is so easy to fall into the trap of letting the television babysit the kids, but this is not a great idea. Watching television isn’t all bad. In fact, there are many great educational programs for kids and adults alike. But, too much of anything can be bad for you. Children often become mesmerized from watching television and will sit for hours in front of it. Usually, it isn’t educational programming that they are watching for hours on end, but even when it is, the child is still stationary and getting zero exercise! With obesity on the rise, limiting time spent is front of the TV is very important.

When you babysit for a new family, be sure to ask about television restrictions. Some parents may say they do not want their children watching TV at all while a sitter is on duty. This could be because the parents feel that if they are paying you to babysit their children, then you shouldn’t be letting the television do it. Some parents may allow their children to watch only certain shows or television stations, while still others don’t mind how much their kids watch. Even in a home where the parents don’t mind extended TV viewing, you should try to avoid it by offering to play games with the children, read to them, or go for a walk. After all, you are getting paid to care for the children, not to sit around doing nothing until the parents get home. If the children are allowed to watch a few shows and reject your offer to play, read, or go for a walk, then watch the program with them and discuss what’s happening to make it interactive.

After the program has ended, do some activities associated with it. For instance, if the show talked about the number eight, then at snack time have a snack associated with the number eight. Try a piece of celery with eight drops of peanut butter on it (as long as the children don’t have peanut allergies), or eight small slices of fruit. You could try yogurt with eight blueberries sprinkled on top, or two graham crackers separated into four sections each. A great activity would be to get out the blocks and put different shaped blocks in groups of eight and see which group can make the tallest tower. Cut a sheet of paper into 26 pieces and write a different letter of the alphabet on each piece. Put all the pieces of paper in a hat and have the child pick out eight. See how many words you can make with those eight letters. Try something with a little more motion. Bounce a ball eight times then toss it to a friend. Use sidewalk chalk and draw hopscotch boxes, then play.

Hop on one foot eight times then switch to the other. If the television show that the kids were watching involves two friends that had an argument or dispute of some type, you could have the children come up with other solutions to their problem. Have the children draw the friends making up or doing something fun together. Another idea is to have them put on a play recreating the TV show, and act out what happened and how it was resolved, or how they think it should have been resolved. Anything you can do to avoid having the TV be just a box that the children stare at for hours is helpful. If the children you are caring for are allowed to watch television while you’re on duty, try to keep it to a minimum. Create activities for the kids to do when the show is over and try to avoid having them sit around “mesmerized” for hours. Televisions don’t make great babysitters, great people do!

By: Lisa McLellan

Parents who’ve never hired a babysitter before may not know exactly what preparations to take. If you fall into this category, you might be anxious and hesitant in dealing with the babysitter. Because of this, you may also neglect some basic etiquette or considerations.

Before the babysitter arrives, you have to make sure everything is in its proper place. Check your child’s room because it may be a mess. All his toys must be where the babysitter can find them, and not scattered all over the floor. Bathrooms must be clean- keep in mind that the babysitter is a visitor in your home, and you would not want her to suffer from an inconvenience. Make sure there is enough handwashing fluid or soap, a guest towel, and that the toilet is working. Also, for your child’s sake, make sure there is a first aid kit and emergency medicines available. Check the refrigerator for food- it is common courtesy to leave some snacks for the sitter and your children.

When the babysitter arrives, the first thing to do is to show her around the house. The tour should be quick but comprehensive. The babysitter should know the location of the bathroom, kitchen, and your children’s rooms. She should know where to find the fire exits if necessary, and burglar alarms. She should be shown the use of certain devices and appliances that she may need.

Then introduce the babysitter to your children. The children need to see that this is not a stranger, but a friend of Mommy and Daddy that they can trust. Encourage rapport and conversation, and observe how they get along before you leave.

Then, remind the babysitter what time you will arrive back home, and at what numbers she can reach you. If possible, give her a list of emergency numbers- the fire department, police department, hospital or ambulance, and contact numbers of nearby relatives if you are unable to go home immediately.

By: Rashel Dan

An online solution such as a professional babysitting finder provides parents the tools to find, screen and choose the best babysitter for their family. There are many advantages in using this type of service compared to other non web based babysitter placement agencies. One of the simplest ways to find exactly the person you need is to use an advanced babysitter online placement agency. Read this article to learn more.

Finding babysitters on the internet

A professional babysitting finder is a simple tool yet quite sophisticated – it can track local babysitters from the city you live in that are currently looking to work as a family helper. This service is highly effective since you no longer need to waste valuable time on other solutions which are less efficient in finding what you need. If we further examine the other solutions this tool can provide we can find the following – sitters resume preview, sitter’s background search and sitter’s contract templates.

Why use an online finder?

Now that we understand how this service works, let’s examine the benefits of using it.

(1) Enable parents to find exactly what the need according to their own family needs.

(2) Minimizes your family babysitter seeking time and enables in a very short time to find and hire the right person for you.

(3) Easy way to access a large and nationwide babysitter database that are interested in working as a sitter in your hometown.

Conclusion

Families that already used a good and reliable professional babysitting finder agree that comparing to other non web based solutions, this tool is the most effective and friendliest one.

Yet another summer has come, and you are just stuck at home. Of course, the sleeping is nice, and hanging out with friends after a long and boring school year is great, but it does get a little tiring, doesn’t it? You can not always go to another country for the summer, and even taking a road trip is hard to do. So what are you supposed to do in the summer? What can you possibly do that will let you go have fun and pay for your expenses? There are many places that hire in the summer, and they are looking for your help.

Places that are looking for extra help in the summer are amusement park. Amusement parks are an extremely exciting place to go in the summer and lots of people take advantage of their free time. When you work at an amusement park you get to do lots of new exciting jobs and you will gain experience that you did not have before. You can work at the rides, to remind people to keep their hands and feet inside the moving vehicle. You can work at the games or even selling food. Just remember to always serve with a smile, after all people have come there to enjoy.

Another place you can work are at the local shops. There are many food places that need your help! For example you can work at a smoothie joint and help people enjoy the cool smoothies in the hot summer. This way you can keep cool, do a job, earn money, gain experience, see smiling faces, and enjoy a smoothie all at the same time! Other places you can work are diners and family restaurants. The ambiance in those diners are really pleasant, and you will have a good time serving a hungry family. And finally, you can work at a clothing or shoe store and you will get discounts!

And finally you can work as a babysitter. Babysitting is a fun, exciting and rewarding job but it requires a certain amount of skill. In order to do a babysitting job you must know plenty of things about children, food, house appliances and kids TV shows and games. You have to be prepared to do the ridiculous, the fun and the crazy. Also, when you take care of kids you have to be firm enough yet playful enough so that they will like listening to you and playing with you. But if you can handle these things, Babysitting is a great job for you.

The best things about babysitting are the timings and the nature of the job. When you babysit you get to see cute children playing and being extremely innovative. You get to witness the way they approach the World and you get to see their arguments, smiles and growth. Taking care of kids is one of the best feelings for both you and them. You get to be a role model and they get to look up to someone, it is a win-win situation. And the best thing is that you get paid for doing such a wonderful job. Really, you can have fun and earn money to have more fun all at the same time.

By: Carmine Bailey

Being a nanny can be very rewarding. It can also be challenging and stressful, particularly if your children have special needs. As a parent, here are seven things you can do to keep your nanny happy:

1. Provide a Great Benefit Package

Compared to other professions, most nannies don’t make that much money. For that reason, nannies highly value their employment benefits or perks, as they’re sometimes called. Benefits add to the total cost of nanny care, but they’ll greatly reduce the chance your nanny will leave for another job. They’ll also increase your nanny’s job satisfaction.

In creating a benefit package, consider including paid time off for sick leave, vacation, and holidays. Also consider contributing towards your nanny’s health insurance and commuting costs. Be sure to get the input of your nanny, as she may prefer one employment benefit more than another.

2. Pay On Time, Every Time

Legally, you are required to pay your nanny on a set schedule, such as every week or every two weeks. Paying your nanny on a set schedule is also the right thing to do. Nannies, as with most employees, depend on their paycheck. Don’t put your nanny in a bind by paying her late.

3. Give Raises

Most employees get raises, and your nanny should, too. Your nanny should receive a raise every time she takes on additional duties, such as caring for another child. Your nanny should also receive an annual cost-of-living raise, typically two or three percent.

4. Give a Helpful Feedback

On an average day, parents return home from work and spend only a few minutes discussing things with their nanny before she leaves for home. That daily routine can happen week after week, without the nanny receiving any meaningful feedback about her job performance.

You should therefore take a few extra minutes every week to give your nanny helpful feedback about her job performance. In addition, set aside an hour each year for an annual review. During the review, give her constructive criticism and remember to thank her for the hard work.

5. Say Thank You

A nanny is tasked with an incredibly important job–ensuring the safety and well-being of your children. Thank her for all her work. You should thank her for small things, such as cleaning after the children’s meals and taking the children to the park. You should also thank her for big things, such as contributing toward the children’s happiness.

6. Respect Her Privacy

A nanny has a life of her own. You can ask her about her day, but you shouldn’t pry into personal details unless the nanny raises them or unless you think her personal life might be hurting her work performance.

7. Have a Fair Nanny Employment Agreement

During the hiring process, ask nanny interview questions about what would be in a prospective nanny’s ideal employment agreement. Then, in finalizing employment, work with your nanny to put a fair employment contract in place. It will show that you view your nanny as a professional, and she will be thankful for it.

By: Susie Parker

When you hire a babysitter to watch your kids for the first time, do not take it for granted that she would not instinctively know her way around your house, no matter how extensive her experience. Before the official babysitting visit, arrange to meet with her so that you can tour her around your house. Here are the important things you have to show her.

Important Points of the House Tour

The restroom- She should know the locations of the restrooms- all of them, if there is more than one. If you have an infant, show her where to bathe and change the baby.

The medicine cabinet- Make sure that your medicine cabinet is stacked with the basic medications as well as a few emergency ones. If any of your children has a current medical condition in which occasional attacks are possible, tell her what to do and show her where the emergency medications are. Also point out where to get the first aid kit.

The fire exits- It is her responsibility to get your children out of the house safely in case of a fire.

The panic room- If you have a panic or secret room in the event of intruders or burglars, show her where it is.

The refrigerator- Naturally, your babysitter will get hungry at some point. It is common courtesy to leave some snacks for her. Also point out where the microwave or oven toaster is. Tour her in the kitchen or dining room, and show her where the high chairs are in case your children would need them.

The telephone- You may have a policy where the babysitter is not allowed to make social calls during her visit, but she must know where the phone is in case of emergencies. Make sure there is a list of emergency numbers within reach of the phone.

Appliances and Gadgets- Show her where the television, computer, air conditioner/heater, and other devices are and how to operate them properly.

A house tour will be a great help to your babysitter, in the sense that she will know exactly where to go in case of emergencies, and she will feel more familiar and oriented in your environment.

By: Rashel Dan
