Due to media stories and the spread of news on the internet it has come to the attention f many parents and caregivers that you can never really be sure what is going on in your home when you are not around. For instance when you leave your kids with the babysitter or nanny you cannot be sure of what is going on in your home and if your children are safe. There have been horror stories of child abuse and neglect.

However, many parents fear with good reason that a nanny or babysitter who knows they are being watched will be on there best behaviour. The solution then for these parents is the trust nanny camera which can be hidden in a clock, a teddy bear, a plant, even computer speakers.

Most home surveillance cameras are small and can easily be concealed discreetly. Most cameras will provide a continuous feed of video for the area that they expose. These videos can be watched live in a near by room or 100′s of miles of away depending on the setup you choose. There are black and white cameras, color cameras, wired cameras, and wireless cameras and so on. The type of set up depends on the amount of money you want to spend.

The great thing about nanny cameras is they typically require very little or no installation because they are available in wireless solutions and run on batteries. Just remember to make sure there’s power to the batteries. Although typically used for spying eyes for the purpose of babysitting it can be used in many applications that require a concealed camera so as in an office.

Nanny Spy Cams

Nanny cams are hidden cameras that are used by parents to monitor their children. These cameras are named so because they are used by parents to identify abusive nannies and babysitters. Without a nanny cam in place, parents will probably never know for sure that their children are actually well taken care of by the nanny or babysitter hired for the purpose. Nanny cameras have helped several parents catch abusive nannies that otherwise would have continued to abuse or neglect their children.

Nanny cameras are compact cameras that are concealable in household items like lamps, books, or even teddy bears. The teddy bear nanny cam is one of the most popular spy cams as teddy bears are popular among kids. The spy cam is usually overlooked by the child and the care giver. The built-in camera sends superior quality images to the receiver. Parents can view the images using their TV or computer. These cameras typically use a 3.6mm lens and 92 degree viewing range.

Wireless nanny cams hidden in plants are ideal for homes and offices. An artificial plant cleverly conceals a wireless camera. The advantage of this type of camera is that it can be placed any where in your home to be used to monitor the children. It has a line of sight of up to 300 feet.

Another interesting addition to collection of nanny cameras is the air purifier concealed nanny cam. The camera fixed in the air purifier is absolutely unnoticeable. It is most suitable for office use. It generally has a 4-channel operational camera and 8 channels for reception. It produces a resolution of 380 lines for a color camera and 420 lines for a black and white one.

You can fit these nanny cameras practically anywhere. The Boom box spy camera is very useful as the boom box is portable and can be shifted to any place in your room. Wireless cameras hidden in books are another popular option as nanny cams.

The list of nanny cameras seems endless. Some other objects that can act as hidden cams are computer speakers, lamps, emergency lamps, smoke alarms, VCRs and purses. Your choice of camera will depend on your requirements including the layout of your home, the distance at which you will be monitoring the images and whether you require recording of these images.

Hidden cameras are concealed in everyday items. Hidden cameras are used in offices to supervise employees, parents wanting to keep an eye on the nanny or their teenager. Unlike security cameras they are meant to be concealed therefore are an excellent way to keep track of things without anyone being the wiser.

Hidden cameras are also sometimes used in reality television to catch participants in unusual or absurd situations. Hidden cameras are incredibly reliable to help catch someone in the act of a crime or theft. Hidden cameras are used by many different law enforcement agencies, but those hidden cameras differ in the fact that they can have sound. Usually they need sound for a sting operation.

Hidden cameras are small enough to be undetectable by someone not aware. Hidden Cameras are bought to keep watch over a place that is out of the line of vision. For example, hidden cameras are often made to look like clocks, computer speakers, smoke detectors and even toys. Just look at all the different hidden cameras we have to offer.

Small wireless hidden cameras are changing the way we can implement video surveillance. Small wireless hidden cameras are an extremely innovative technology. Our wireless or wired hidden cameras are great for home use in grounds surveillance and even as Nanny Cameras.

As I stated before hidden cameras can’t have sound unless you are in law enforcement but there are recorders that can digitally record sound. We have ones that can record a room conversation for 136 hours. There are other options like phone recorders if you are concerned to whom you’re teen or spouse is talking to. For the most part you don’t need sound because a picture can say it all.

Hidden video cams may cost from $100 to $400, depending on their fabrication and functions. Hidden cameras come in many different kinds of sizes and price ranges. With hidden cameras no one will ever suspect a toy or other available disguised camera. They are a complete self-contained video system.

Uses

Nanny cams help parent leave their child with a stranger until they get to know the babysitter or nanny better. Although most parents go through a thorough selection process for their child’s babysitter or nanny they still have an uneasy feel about entrusting their children’s lives with some stranger. If I only had a wireless nanny cam, I wouldn’t be wondering what’s happening to my child. A mother or father of a young baby always knows the importance to have a sense of security in knowing what their nanny is doing while they are not at home. A hidden security camera provides relief and the watchful eyes that will supply the answers to any questions that you may have about your nanny or anyone in your home. Many daycare centers have cameras installed for insurance reasons.

Teenager cams are becoming popular. You teenager is hanging out with different friends, whispering on the phone, and locking him/herself in their bedroom. My suggestion is our smoke detector or clock cam because a stuffed animal cam may be a bit conspicuous. Most teenagers go through a period of being secretive but it could signal possible behavior like drugs, alcohol or other illegal behavior. It’s good to be sure and deal with it before it becomes a huge problem.

Employee cams are a must for most businesses, especially if there is an indication of employee theft. Security cameras usually do the trick but if there are areas that don’t have security cameras or the employees know how to dodge them then you may have to resort to hidden cams. Hey it’s your livelihood, protect it.

In conclusion, hidden cameras are not the devil’s instrument; they are a tool for parents, employers, and even spouses to make sure that they aren’t being victimized.

You are thinking about purchasing a wireless surveillance camera system but, like many people, are afraid of electronic products. You keep reading about words like “lux” and “camera resolution” and “line of sight”. Do I really have to know what these mean? And, isn’t the wireless hidden camera hard to install?

The answer is NO and I’m going to tell you how easy it is to install and use your wireless hidden camera. I will also explain some of the “difficult” terms in plain, understandable English so you won’t be intimidated anymore.

The best thing about a wireless hidden camera is just that — it’s WIRELESS! You won’t have to run any wires through your walls or under your rug.

These wireless cameras are called “hidden” because they are built into an existing everyday object that you see in your home or office. Most of these objects are functioning electrical appliances, e.g. clock radios, air purifiers, and even computer speakers.

Each object contains a wireless camera. The camera will function as long as the object is plugged into the wall outlet. For example, even when you turn your radio off the camera is still working! These objects look natural when plugged into the wall, so your camera remains hidden and unsuspected.

Don’t forget — the object in which your camera is hidden is usually portable, e.g. a clock radio. So even if you disconnect the plug from the wall — perhaps to move the object — you can still use your wireless camera with batteries. The batteries work for about 4-8 hours, so it’s best that you have another set handy or use a battery charger for a fresh supply.

You want to purchase a wireless surveillance camera system that is “Plug and Play”. This means just what it says — plug it in and begin using it! Your wireless hidden camera comes with two main components: 1) a camera and a transmitter connected inside an everyday object and 2) a receiver which is attached to your VCR or TV. That’s all there is to it — you’re now ready to record.

Record what? There are unlimited uses for your wireless hidden camera. Here’s a few examples:

Hidden Nanny Camera — you can watch your children while they are being cared for by their nanny or baby sitter Be able to watch your mother or father who is getting up in years and needs special care Wouldn’t it be great to know who’s on your property all the time or even at the door? How about your children — you can keep an eye on your tots with your hidden nanny camera to make sure they don’t leave the house or property. And, now with your small security camera, you will know the REAL time your teens return home at night

By using surveillance cameras in the workplace you will always be aware of what’s going on in your store, office and warehouse. Just set up a wireless surveillance camera system to view your cash register, entrance and exit doors, loading dock, or just about anywhere. All this and much more can be viewed from your VCR tape or live on your TV. And with special software, you can watch what’s going on in your home or business on your computer screen, even when you’re away. Should you choose a Black and White (B/W) or Color camera? That is a personal choice that you should make. A Black and White camera does better as a low light wireless camera than a color camera because it has a lower lux. Color cameras, however, would be more helpful to the police in identifying the burglar, shoplifter, assailant, etc. by giving a better description, i.e. the man with the red hair in the green and yellow shirt.

Finally, I promised to explain some technical camera terms. Here are some of the general questions you might ask about your wireless hidden camera:

What is a Wireless Camera? A wireless camera consists of a camera with a transmitter attached to it and a receiver which connects to a VCR or a TV. What is”Plug and Play”? Plug and Play is the easy way to install your wireless surveillance camera system. Just connect the power supply (either AC for wall power or the battery pack) to your camera. Place the object containing the camera to show what you want to view. Connect the receiver to your TV or VCR using the red and yellow RCA cable from the receiver. You are now set up. What is a Transmitter? A transmitter is a device that converts video signals into radio frequency signals and transmits them as radio waves. What is a Receiver? A receiver is an electronic device that receives radio signals from a transmitter and decodes the signal for use as pictures on your VCR or TV. What is “Lux”? Lux is a method of measuring a camera’s sensitivity to light, i.e. it is the amount of light the camera needs to provide an image. The lower the number the less light the camera needs to reproduce a clear image. A Black and White camera usually has a lower lux than a color camera. It will hold an image longer than a color camera. For example, a B/W camera with a .05 lux will be better in low light than a color camera with a .5 lux. What is the meaning of “Camera Resolution” for security cameras? Camera resolution is a measure of the clearness of a security camera. It’s determined by the number of horizontal video lines that the camera must have to reproduce the correct image. The higher the resolution number the sharper the image. What is a Monitor? A monitor is what you use to view your camera image. The monitor could be a TV, CCTV (closed circuit TV) or even your computer screen. What is “line of Sight”? Line of Sight means that the video signal travels from the transmitter in your camera to a dedicated receiver (e.g. VCR or TV) placed a certain distance away with no obstructions or interference between the two. The signal can go through walls and floors. Low Power Cameras usually have a line of sight of 700 feet. However, you can upgrade to a High Power Camera which has a line of sight of up to 3500 feet.

So there you have it — you don’t have to be a camera buff to install or operate your wireless hidden camera. Just plug and play!

I was certainly worried about what my son Daniel does at home during my absence. He was studying in the eighth standard and in his teen age where all the concerned parents are worried about the children’s behavior. I felt that my son was getting too much addicted to the computer and that he was not willing to leave it even after he is finishing his studies. He needed the computer to finish up his project work and he used to gather all the possible information from it very frequently. But somehow I sensed a foul and I wanted to catch the main reason for the addiction of the computer for my son. I discussed the matter with my husband when we decided that we should find a solution out so that we could know the exact reason for the trouble. Actually as we both had to go out for work and we had hired a baby sitter in the house for Daniel so we thought that we should buy a spy camera which could even help us in spying all the actions of both the baby sitter and Daniel. When we logged on to the website where we get all the thorough information about the spy cameras, the hidden cameras and the various types of cameras, then we decided that we will place an order for the Computer Speaker Camera which was the best instrument which could help us out to keep a complete eye on Daniel’s actions.

This Computer speaker camera appears like an ordinary pair of computer speakers which totally works without any interruptions and the installation of this camera is so effortless that I simply had to plug it with my computer set and it would start working and playing like the usual speakers. And what makes this camera more effective is that it has a small 3.6mm pinhole lens which has the proficiency to capture pictures inside a 92º enclosure of image. So it was very beneficial for me that now I could easily spy and record what Daniel is actually doing with the computer. One of the both computer speakers is included with the camera lens whereas the other is not. This camera is easily available and affordable too and comes in a full color and even in black and white video version which even has the capability to capture videos up to 300feet which was the best feature I liked because I couldn’t miss even a single action which would occur in front of the computer set. And furthermore the Computer speaker camera also is incorporated with a 2.4GHz 4-channel transmitter which even allows placing the computer any where and every where with absolute coolness and relaxation. More features and advantages which makes this camera exclusive is that it is fitted with a CCD lens and 8-channel roll competent recipient and a 12V DC control structure which is an additional benefit and safety which we can give our selves. Now that I had installed this camera in the existing computer set then I was a bit relaxed that I would definitely find out the reason behind the addiction of Daniel towards the computer and I found that the real culprit was the baby sitter who was misleading him and misusing the computer and engaging him to use the ill legal sites. We immediately fired the baby sitter out and guided Daniel towards the right path and were giving all the thanks to the exclusive Computer speaker camera which helped us the way out very conveniently.

A wireless hidden camera is just that — it’s wireless. There is no need to run wires through walls or under rugs. A wireless camera consists of a camera with a transmitter and a separate receiver which attaches to your TV or VCR. Being wireless, the transmitter does not have to be connected to the receiver. To make it “hidden,” a wireless camera is built into an existing everyday object that you would usually see in your home or business.

Your wireless hidden camera (also called a “nanny camera”) can be found in a variety of everyday objects — radios, air purifiers, computer speakers, etc. A wireless camera can be tailored to fit into your home. Since it looks natural being plugged in the wall, there is no need to disguise the power cord.

Ease of installation is one of the main reasons why people choose to purchase a wireless hidden camera. You don’t need to be a “camera guru” — your camera can be up and running in as little as 5 minutes. Just connect the power supply of the object containing the camera into a wall outlet and point the camera where you want to view. Then connect the receiver to your TV or VCR and you are set up and ready to go!

Let’s use a clock radio as an example. You have three uses for a clock radio camera — a wireless hidden camera (nanny cam), a working clock, and a functioning radio. The camera and transmitter inside the radio are powered by the clock radio’s power supply.

When the clock radio is plugged in, the camera is always on, even if you turn the radio off. It is almost impossible to detect a hidden wireless camera because it doesn’t attract attention. If it looks like a radio and plays like a radio, and even plugs in like a radio, then it must be a radio, right?

Here are some ways that your wireless hidden camera can give you an added measure of security:

• Use it as a “nanny camera” to keep an eye on your family while they are under the care of a nanny or baby sitter. Now, if your child is injured, you’ll know exactly how it happened!

It’s a difficult decision for any parent to leave their child with a stranger. Do you know how often your nanny or baby sitter yells at your child? She surely won’t tell you, and if your child is too young to tell you, how will you know? We’ve all seen shocking footage from nanny cams on TV which may lead you to question the care your own children are receiving.

It’s a fact — shaken head or fractured neck syndrome in babies actually occurs. Our children are our greatest blessing — nothing is more important than their safety.

Even if your child does not have any cuts or bruises, that does not mean that he or she is not being abused. A quality wireless hidden camera is going to show you what the real story is when you are away.

• Your wireless hidden camera is portable — the object containing it can be moved wherever you want it without suspicion. You won’t be confined to placing it in a permanent position.

You can put your camera into any room you want to view. You can watch your children in the daytime and even place it to watch your front door at night.

You can also move your receiver to any VCR or TV in your home. If you have more than one TV (which most people have today), by moving your receiver hook-up, you can watch from any room in your house!

• Did you know that the arrest rate for burglaries is as low as 15%? The reason for this is because there are very rarely any eyewitnesses to the crime. Placing a wireless hidden camera in your home or office will provide you with the information about who did the crime.

We’ve all seen detective stories on TV where four eyewitnesses all give different descriptions of what they saw. Now you can give an accurate description to the police (if needed) so there will be a greater chance of the thief being caught.

There are so many other uses for a wireless hidden camera. You can:

• keep an eye on any repairmen doing work in your home

• make sure your housekeeper really does her job

• watch your young children playing with their friends and getting along properly

• keep an eye on your puppy during his potty training or furniture-chewing days

• and, businesses can also have clock radios and other objects that can contain a wireless hidden camera. You can monitor activities of your employees, salespeople or anyone you wish that comes into your office. You should, however, check your local laws before you do this.

• And you can probably think of many other ways your wireless hidden camera can help you in your home.

By the way, there’s a neat thing you can do with your wireless hidden camera. If you have a TV that has a “picture-in-picture” feature, place your camera in your child’s room (or any other room) and then, while you are in the living room, you can watch the camera image on the small screen while you watch your favorite TV show at the same time This is wonderful for a new parent and avoids constantly running in to check on the baby. Been there, done that!

So you see, there are many ways to use your wireless hidden camera to achieve peace of mind in your home or office. And the best news is that you don’t have to be a camera buff to install and operate it.
