Nanny Search Or Why It Is Vital To Obtain Public Records On People?
Author: adminDec 10
Never trust!
Never trust an unknown person. No matter how prepossessing appearance do he or she has. As you know appearance is deceptive. How knows what kind of person your new acquaintance may appear? I agree that some people are really worth our trust, but the per cent of those who do not is rather high! What we need to do then? How to get to know all the information on the person you are going to employ?
Check every new person
Quite a similar story appears to be if you are going to hire a nanny for your little children. For instance, you are working and don’t have any time and opportunity to sit with your children at home. Or may be you don’t work, but decided to go out with your husband, and still don’t have anyone to look after your babies. My advice to those young families: again, do not trust an unknown person. If you are going to trust your children to a nanny’s care, let it be your old acquaintance. If you don’t have such one, you have to hire an unfamiliar nanny. We all wish good for our children, so do as I always do: check every new person you get in contact with. How to do it? Simple: through the search web-site.
What search system to choose?
Another problem is on the agenda. What search system to choose? Surely, there exist quite a great number of different search sites which can be very useful here. In spite of this not all of these systems can provide you with full and appropriate information. Of course they work. But what is required in our situation is quick search of high quality. It is a pity but only few sites can boast of possessing these qualities. It is vital for the search program to have a huge database. If it is not very big or if it contains mistakes or inaccuracy; your search would not be full.
Right sites
Fortunately, there also exist right search sites that have a huge database and allow you to do a nationwide or a state search. Such sites are not free, but the result is worth paying. More over, you need to pay just one time and then you will use the program all the time. And not only for the nanny search, but also for other needs.

Nanny Background Check – How I Caught Our Nanny Lying
Author: adminDec 10
If you are hiring someone to take care of your kids or parents or whatever other work around your house I want to tell you my story about a recent nanny background check I did. The person I decided to call for an interview to be a nanny came from an ad on a popular website and this person seemed very kind, almost too kind.
I decided that it was important to do more investigation on this person, for no other reason than to just confirm that this person was legitimate and would care for my family. So I asked her for her complete name and a couple of references. I also asked her how old she was, and whether she minded if I looked a bit into her history which she kindly agreed. I also asked for certain information when I interviewed her which was a resume. I also asked if she had a criminal record and she said no.
How I Went About Doing a Nanny Background Check
I found a site online that does criminal background checks for free. I wanted to do my own check on the nanny first, so I entered the full name, and location and address.
Here Is What I found On The Nanny Background Search
I found her name and location and was able to narrow the search down with other info on her resume. I found a criminal record for an old shoplifting charge from about 15 years ago. Since this person was so nice, I decided at this point I would call her references anyway. I found that by talking to references I was able to determine that she was generally a good person. I called her back and asked her about the criminal record and she confirmed it was her and she also apologized for lying and said she made a mistake in her youth.
At this point I was not sure if I should hire her. I decided that since it was 15 years ago, and all her references spoke highly of her, that I would.
The moral of the story is, if you want to protect your family, you should consider what you may find when you do a search on someone; you cannot trust that the person you want to hire will always tell the truth.

How to Find a Nanny – 5 Tips For Finding a Good Nanny
Author: adminOct 13
In today’s world, finding a nanny for your child can be quite a challenge. In fact the task often feels near impossible for some parents. Where have all the good nannies gone? Answer: They’re probably already taken! But don’t let that deter you as there are still some good Nannies out there and there are a number of things you can do to snag one, before someone else does.
#1 – Let Everyone Know You Are Looking
This may seem obvious but you wouldn’t believe the number of parents that fail to do this. Let everyone know, especially other parents, that you are looking for a good nanny. The more people you talk to, the more people will be on the lookout for you and the greater chance they might refer you to one.
#2 – Use the Community Centers and Libraries
If you have a community center or library nearby, take a trip there and see whether they have any local bulletin boards where you can view “Nanny Available” ads or even place your own “Nanny Wanted” ads completely free. The best part of doing this is that the nannies listed or responding to your ads will more than likely be local to you where you live.
#3 – Go to the Park
Why the park? Because that’s where all the nannies are! Taking your child to the park is a great way to meet nannies and since nannies typically have a large circle of friends who are also nannies you’ll find that once you start talking to some of them, they will very often know of a nanny friend who’s looking for a position. Visiting the park during weekdays is best for this as that is when nannies are most likely to be there.
#4 – Go to the Web
The internet has a number of resources you can use to find a Nanny. When considering the internet, most people might automatically think of classified ad sites such as Craigslist. Though these can be effective, even better resources are Nanny Search sites. Nanny Search sites are websites where available nannies post their profile for parents to view. The profile may include details regarding their age, where they live, their child care experience, and even their salary expectations. If a parent is interested in a nanny, they simply contact them via e-mail or phone. Though the majority of these nanny sites are free only to nannies, there are a select few that are free to everyone; both nannies and parents.
#5 – Use an Agency
Lastly, if you can afford it, an effective way to find a nanny is to use an agency. There are numerous agencies out there to choose from. When searching for an agency, pay close attention to their number of years in business and ask for references from other parents who have used them in the past.
Whichever method you use to find a nanny, once you find one it’s very important to ensure you interview them, perform background checks, and most importantly use your intuition; if something doesn’t feel right, it usually means something isn’t right. Finding a good nanny can be a real challenge but utilizing these five tips will make it an achievable one.

Selecting a Nanny – The Second Interview
Author: adminJun 18
House Rules
So, you’ve narrowed the nanny search down to a few prospective nannies. The larger items have been discussed – the pay, the work hours, vacation time, etc. – but you still need to talk to them about the finer points of being a nanny in your home. Your nanny needs to learn about your personality, your child’s personality as well as the rules of the house. Consider the following: How do you want your child disciplined? What do you want your nanny to do as far as handling day to day tasks? Do you want them to contact you in any situation or make decisions for themselves? Will you allow them to provide education to your child or just monitor their behavior? How will you and your nanny work together to resolve conflicts?
These are essential items to discuss. Get things started on the same page, without having any surprises down the road.
Child Interaction
It is essential to monitor the nanny’s interaction with your child during the interviewing process. In fact, let your child interview them, in a sense. For example, send them outside to play alone for a few minutes and monitor their interaction from a window.
Note certain things, such as how the nanny reacts if your child says “no!” and how the nanny reacts when your child asks a question. Doe they talk authoritatively or are they soft spoken?
The Second Interview
So, you’ve found someone that seems to be pretty good on paper and in person. Why bother with a second interview? The second interview provides another opportunity for you to observe the nanny working with your child. This is the perfect way for you to determine if they are getting along well and if they fit within your family’s personality.
Consider going on an outing with the nanny and your child as the second interview. Just remember that they aren’t working for you yet, so allow them only to interact with the child when they initiate it. The nanny should be able to interact with your child enough to convince them that she would be fun to play with.
During the outing, notice how well they pay attention to your child. Are they more concerned about impressing you rather than interacting with your child? Are they listening to the child and encouraging good behavior? Taking these things into account will help you to make the final decision about who the right nanny is.
Make the Decision
It’s time to select the right nanny for the job. Following is a checklist of items to take care of prior to your nanny’s first day on the job: Double check all personal and employment references. Do this even if they were referred by a nanny placement agency. Run a background check and a driver’s record check. Work through any unresolved issues with salary, hours, duties, etc. Come to an agreement on how discipline will be handled.
Once you’ve determined who the best nanny is, trust your intuition and hire the person you feel fits best for your child and for your family.

Nanny Search – What to Ask When Interviewing Potential Candidates
Author: adminApr 16
Interviewing a nanny isn’t like finding the best quote for your interior design. When you’re looking at potential nanny candidates, you’re trying to find out who will be the best fit for your child. Needless to say, it’s not a process something to take lightly.
The good news? You’ve arrived here, which means you’re already looking for advice on how to handle a nanny interview.
The better news? You’ve arrived at the right agency. With a decade of experience under our belt, Lexington Nannies is one of the best nanny agencies not only in the southern California area, but across the nation.
Hiring a nanny starts with the interview. Here is a quick guide to making sure you understand how to properly interview a potential nanny for your children.
1. First, don’t stick to a template. Even if you print off an article about interviewing nannies, nothing will help you as much as taking at least an hour to get to know each nanny candidate and see them interact with both you and your child. Does their general demeanor mesh with you? Is their personality warm, and do they seem like someone who is proactive enough to work themselves into your lives without you having to micromanage them?
2. Ask them about experience. This is vital. Without experience, references, and credentials, you never know who you might be hiring. So find out about their background, the children they’ve worked with, and find out how long they’ve been able to commit to clients in the past. What they’ve done in the past is a great indicator for what they’ll do in the future.
3. Why do they like working with children? You’ll want to look for confidence here, because if a nanny doesn’t know why they like working with children, they’re in the wrong business. Any solid nanny will have answered this question many times and settled on an answer that clicks with them; try to see which nannies are capable of this type of answer.
4. Where do they see themselves headed in the future? Is this nanny thing a “gig” for them, or are they truly looking for a long-term commitment? If you’re the kind of person who wants to develop a long-term working and friendly relationship with your nanny, this question – and its answer – will be very important to you. If you plan on having more children, is this something the nanny can handle?
5. What duties have they liked and disliked in the past? Ask them this before you tell them about your job, because you’ll want to see if they’ll actually enjoy the duties you require. If they don’t, it might be a good idea to pass, depending on other variables like experience and references.
6. How do they handle children when times are tough? How do they handle crying children, or children who refuse to cooperate for anyone except their parents? The answers here should also demonstrate that the nanny has experience and competence in these areas. Try to prod for specific examples.
7. Ask them about decisions made in the past. If they are a job skipper, based on their resume, ask them why this is. You might get a little more context that will explain it better to you. If they don’t seem to have a good reason for inconsistencies in the past, that should raise a few flags.
8. What kind of position do they want? Do they detest being micromanaged, and what kind of environment are they looking for? Does your job fit their working style?
Resist the temptation to be too polite when you’re a job interviewer. Remember: you might end up employing this person for a long time, and they could end up playing a major role in your family’s life. Be thorough.
